For its academic, research, and student life pursuits, the University of Kent has earned several top rankings in 2021, including 48th in the Times University Guide and 82nd in the Guardian University Guide.

History

The University of Kent, also known as UKC, is a public research university in Kent, England. The campuses are in Medway, Canterbury, and Tonbridge, with postgraduate centres in other European cities such as Rome, Paris, Brussels, and Athens.

UKC began with 500 students and now has over 3,000 employees and 19,000 students enrolled. In 1965, they were joined by 150 staff members to establish what is now a reputable educational institute throughout the UK.

With Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent as Chancellor, the University embarked on a period of rapid expansion during the 1960s. The university is now a centre of academic excellence, having received the TEF Gold award for sustained teaching and academic excellence.

Scholarships

Transport

The Canterbury campus has one of the most convenient accommodations because everything, from the library to the classes, is within walking distance. Furthermore, the campus is a short bus ride or 20-minute walk from the city centre. The Medway campus is near the Pier Quays housing, which is less than a 15-minute walk from Pembroke.

Students can easily navigate the campus on foot or take advantage of the free shuttle bus service that connects the Canterbury and Medway campuses.

The rest of Kent can be reached via bus, with special discounts available to students. The ports of the Channel Islands and the Eurostar rail service.
