Urology is a field of medicine that deals with diseases of the urinary and reproductive tract. Urologist or urology surgeons diagnose and treat problems of the female urinary system and the male genitourinary tract, including disorders of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate and reproductive organs.
Common Disorders and Diseases -
Some of the common diseases and conditions include stones in the bladder, tumors, congenital disorders, incontinence in women and men, and erectile dysfunction. Other conditions are obstructions and infections in the urethra and prostate, and disorders in the male reproductive organs such as impotence, tumors, congenital disorders, sterilization and male infertility.
Urologists used endoscopy,key-hole surgery, and a thin lighted instrument known as a cystoscope to examine the bladder and urethra.

The main sub-specialties are endourology, urological oncology, functional urology, andrology and reconstructive urology. It is also possible to specialize in pediatric urology.
Entry Requirements and Salary -
To become a urologist, it requires a medical degree of 5 years,2 years of foundation training, 2 years of CT training and 5 years of specialty training. A urology consultant earns about 76,761 to 103,490 euros per year in the UK.
