Missouri American Mini Pigs–Interesting Facts About Pigs

Pig lovers are on the rise and you may wonder why some people prefer Missouri American Mini Pigs to other more common pets. After all, pigs are only known as a source of pork and bacon plus they are messy and dirty so why bother taking care of them as pets, right?

The negative impression is not true and these interesting facts may help clear that stigma.

Pigs including Missouri American mini pigs are smart AND CLEAN

Some experts say that pigs and mini pigs are the wisest and cleanest domestic animals known even if compared to dogs and cats. However, they do not have sweat glands so pigs roll in the dirt to cool down. As for being smart, experiments conducted in the 1990s proved that pigs are smart after learning the task taught as fast as their experimental counterparts – the chimpanzees– have. What was the task? The pigs were trained to move the cursor on the video screen using their snouts to decide whether scribbles shown were new to them or not.

Pigs CAN identify their owners

Research and observations found that pigs do recognize people especially their owners as well as remember at most 30 other animals they come in contact with. Pigs are intelligent and have great memory skills that allow them to learn their names by the time they are two weeks old and respond to their names when called. Some owners claim that their pets recognize them even after being separated for years! However, they can also remember those who have done wrong to them whether you are human or animal – and this grudge could last for years as well.

The more you learn about pigs, the more you realize the appeal of becoming the parent of a mini pig. Missouri American Mini Pigs affords you to be a proud parent and offers lifetime support to you and your new pet pig. Want one now? Squeals on Wheels can help you there!
