CLEANING THE CARPET: THIS IS HOW YOU WORK

If you just bought it, your dress is still completely beautiful. Dust particles, hair, food scraps and other contaminants that accidentally end up on the floor can make a rug dirty. How does it actually work, cleaning a carpet?

Why clean carpet?

It may seem squeaky clean, but the dirt still accumulates unnoticed. Cleaning your carpet is therefore important. Whatever material your rug is made of: regular vacuuming ensures that most of the dirt disappears from the rug. For best results, you should work with the vacuum cleaner twice a week. Dirt attracts dirt, so if you vacuum less , dust will pile up more easily. Walking over the rug also ensures that you step this into the fibers of the rug, so that your rug will get less beautiful spots faster.

Carpet cleaning in Clarksville Tennessee Vacuuming over your carpet quickly seems effective, but it's better to do it slowly. Move aside any furniture that normally sits on the rug so that you can easily access the entire surface of the rug. Sometimes it can help to remove the hose from the telescope tube and then on your knees to vacuum the parts where you walk a lot. If you vacuum with a telescopic tube, turn off the brushes under the suction mouth. Make sure you empty the vacuum cleaner bag regularly, so that the suction power of the vacuum cleaner remains optimal. This way you can be sure that most of the dirt is sucked out of your carpet.

Carpet cleaning: making your own carpet cleaner

Is there a stain on your carpet or do you just want to give it a good freshen up, then carpet cleaner is the solution. You can of course go to the store and buy a ready-made cleaner (often expensive), but making your own is just as easy. It goes like this:

Mix 1 part vinegar with 10 parts hot water. Or mix 125 ml ammonia with 500 ml water. Then apply it to your rug with a brush and scrub the rug. When you're done, wipe the carpet with a damp cloth.

Steam cleaning

To keep your rug really nice and clean, we recommend cleaning it with a steam cleaner at least twice a year. The hot steam kills most micro-organisms deep into the fibres, making odors and stains disappear like snow in the sun. Don't want to buy a steam cleaner? You can easily rent a steam cleaner or a professional carpet cleaner at most hardware stores.

Cleaning the carpet: removing stains

Don't want to clean the entire rug but just a stain? Pour a little vinegar on the stain and sprinkle the area rug with a generous amount of baking soda. Pour lukewarm water over it. Please note, sometimes the mixture will fizz a little, that is completely normal. After an hour, remove the whole thing with a vacuum cleaner and see if you have to repeat these steps again.
