Why It’s Most Important to Choose the Right Bra

Just like friends support you in life, bras do too. At a young age when women start wearing bras, they barely know anything about them. Usually, it’s the mothers who buy what they think will be the best for their girls as they are young. But in most cases, the bras do not fit right.

According to a survey, 80% of women wear the wrong size of bra as they are used to it.

That’s a huge number!

While some of you might think that it is not a big deal, let us tell you why it is-

  1. Neck, back and shoulder pain

Women are strong multitaskers, they keep working throughout the day, at home and work.  The only one time they relax is when they’re asleep. However, if the bra that you wear every day doesn’t fit you right, there are high chances that you’ll experience pain in your neck, back or shoulder. This might be a small issue initially, but will increase over time and particularly ruins your sleep

  1. Skin chafing and scarring

As you get used to an ill-fitted bra over time, you may not notice the toll it takes on your body but that does not mean it goes away. If you’re wearing a small sized bra-band, the skin under your breasts will eventually show marks of the tight underwire or band. Your skin may also get scarred at different places due to repeated friction.

  1. Bad posture

Breasts are made purely out of fat, and not muscle; thus the support of a good bra is needed by every woman. Due to lack of knowledge, women tend to go for bras of the wrong size, causing them to get minimal support and problems that they did not have before. The shoulders and back get uncomfortable due to the lack of a fitting bra, leading to bad posture. Slouching is a major issue that forms and develops due to an ill-fitting bra.

  1. Discomfort

It goes without saying that an ill-fitted bra causes great discomfort. If you’re wearing a size or two larger than your original size, there will be a gap between your skin and the bra cup. This makes your skin-kissing dresses look horrible and your breasts start sagging. On the other hand, if you wear a tight bra, your breasts will no longer look full and bulging. It’ll look under pressure and cause increasing pain to you.

Breasts change in size throughout the menstrual cycle due to hormonal fluctuations. Hence, sticking to one particular bra size for the entire year is not a good idea. It is important to keep in mind that when you try a bra, the band size must fit you with enough space to slide two fingers from below.

After giving birth to a child, the size of your breasts goes through an increase in size. Do not ignore your breasts’ needs and find a good-fitting bra for yourself.

The size of any garment you shop for is the first thing you need to look at.
