Solang valley is a popular hill station in Manali and an important point of attraction of Manali tourism. Solang is made from a combination of two words ‘Solang’ which means nearby village and ‘Nallah’ which means water stream. It is located 13kms from Manali, and lies between Solang village and Beas Kund. The best part about Solang valley is that it has so much to offer in winters as well as summers. Joginder Nagar railway station is the nearest railway station to Solang Valley at a distance of 175 km and the nearest airport to Solang Valley is Kullu-Manali Airport in Bhuntar, around 63 km away. From the airport, you can hire a car or taxi to reach the valley which will take around 2 to 2.5 hours.
