BEAUTIFUL BIRDS OF COSTA RICA

There is really so much to look at on the ground at Costa Rica but to your surprise, the sky appears all the more beautiful! Birds can be spotted in Costa Rica year round. Regardless of the time and place you visit there, you'll see beautiful birds flying up above. Costa Rica Bird Photo Tour has becomes all the more inviting with the presence of these fantastic feathered friends—

HUMMINGBIRDS

Hummingbirds are very widespread in Costa Rica, and can be seen all crosswise the country. All you have to do is make out what to look for: the correct feeders or the correct flowers and plants. An additional great place to spot hummingbirds is at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, in Vara Blanca near Poas Volcano. Here, you can spot more than 20 species of hummingbirds when you stand near the feeders that magnetize them. Hummingbirds are not afraid of humans, so you’ll be able to get an up-close look at these spectacular creatures.

TROGONS

Trogon might seem like a strange word and a weird choice to name a species of birds, but once you make out more about these creatures, you’ll see that the name really fits. While these birds are eye-catching to look at, their name is more attached to how they gnaw their nests from rotted wood. They don’t have tough bills, but they have managed to find a way to construct their nests for their families. They can be spotted at many national parks in Costa Rica to spot these stunners. One of the most significant places to spot Trogons is Cerro La de Merte.

SCARLET MACAW

Scarlet Macaws are easily one of the most vividly colored species on the planet, which makes them very easy to distinguish. You certainly don’t have to be a skilled bird watcher to spot these beauties! Their bright red, yellow, blue and green feathers make these birds one of the most outstanding of any breed of parrot. This breed tends to fly with friends, so you may see a group of loud and vibrantly colored macaws in places like

like Corcovado National Park, Palo Verde National Park and Carara National Park.

If you are traveling within the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve La Selva Protected Zone & Biological Station or Tortuguero National Park, you are likely to see these Toucans traveling in little flocks. Whether you are eager to get a glance of that rainbow beak, or you’re excited to listen to a Toucan singing for you, spotting this bird in the wild will surely be quite the experience.
