The Witches’ Grand High Witch, Anne Hathaway, unveiled her eleven-month son’s name and confirmed her pregnancy during the filming of Robert Zemeckis’s latest release magical drama.
During an American talk show, Kelly and Ryan, the 37 years old actress, Hathaway, confirmed her baby boy’s name, Jack, and that she was expecting him while shooting.
She shared her experience during the first costume trial with the legendary costume designer Joanna Johnston. Johnston asked that she want her to wear the tight waist dress, which made Hathaway scrambling for a reason as she was pregnant.

Anne Hathaway played the Grand High Witch in the movie. Dahl’s 1983 novel suggests that the character is a feared, powerful and evil witch who hides her ugly appearance and ancient age behind the attractive costume’s mask to blend with society. The Grand Witch has a headquarter in Norway where she holds meetings once a year to reunite assistant Witches to execute the next plan.
According to the novel, costume designer Joanna Johnston suggested the appropriate dress to Hathaway for the role. Still, Hathaway was not willing to wear such an outfit during her pregnancy, and she said that she would not be comfortable and free in her role wearing something like that. And she would feel constrained.
Hathaway is at home with her husband, Adam Shulman, and two children, Jack and his big brother, Jonathan Rosebanks, who is 4½ years old. The two brothers have accepted each other, and the sibling rivalry between them is very little. She also shared that the younger one, Jack, has grown up enough to wrestle with his big brother, bringing a new element in their friendship.
In a recent interview with Today’s show Monday Morning, she said that her children would not be watching The Witches until they are 30 because of some scary and dramatic physical transformation of her character as the Grand High Witch.
Last year in December, the Shulman couple was spotted at a Connecticut park with an infant carrier and son Jonathan. However, she did not officially announce that the couple was expecting their second child.
The actress, though, shared her difficult journey for conception in her eight years of marriage. She said that everyone, who is going through conception hell and infertility, should know that her pregnancy was not easy.
