The Must Have Essential Packing Supplies for Moving

Packing for a move can be a big task. If you have the right supplies, it can make the job a lot easier and can also better protect your items. Most moving companies will sell proper packing supplies and can help with how many boxes and supplies you need for the size of your home.

Buying the supplies through your mover is easy and less expensive, than you may think. You will also save a lot of time trying to source all the right boxes.  So with saying that let us get started on the must-have supplies.

Standard Boxes

There are many different types of boxes. First, there are small to medium size boxes, often known as book boxes. These are great for heavy items such as books and great for kitchen wear. These boxes also can come with inserts for glasses and dishware.

Larger boxes that are approx L: 431mm x W: 406mm x H: 596mm are great for lighter items, such as clothes, blankets, pillows, etc.

Specialty Boxes

Specialty boxes include Art boxes which are also great for mirrors. Portarobes or wardrobe boxes which is a large box with a hanging rail. These boxes are a great way to save time taking your clothes off the hangers and packing them in boxes.

Tape and Tape Dispenser

Buying a good quality packing tape will save a lot of hassle and also ensure your boxes don't open up during transit. Investing in a tape dispenser will make the task so much easier. Dispensers only cost approx $20 and worth every penny!

Paper and Bubble Wrap

We all have more than enough newspapers and flyers laying around. However, with this type of paper, the ink can run onto your items, so it is best to use white butcher's paper. A 10m roll only costs approx $15.00. You also have the option of a bit more cushion with bubble wrap.

Protective Wrap / Covers

There are some great items you can purchase that are specifically for covering furniture such as mattresses, chairs, and sofas. I highly recommend these as they can protect your items from getting wet and dirty.  For things like, tables, bed frames, fridge, stove, etc. you can get a roll of plastic wrap, which is a great way to protect these items from scratches.  Wrap the items in plastic wrap first, and the movers will also have protective blankets for added security.

There it is, the essentials that will make your packing so much easier! If you are still looking for a removalist contact My Moovers. They are the trusted Australian movers that can make your move less stressful.
