History

Serengeti National Park was established in 1951 with the aim of preserving the life of wildlife. This gesture also led to the expulsion of the Maasai resident in the park in 1959. They were moved to the Ngorongo conservation area . In 1981, Serengeti National Park was added to UNESCO World Heritage . Today, the site registers more than 90,000 tourists .

The Serengeti National Park is one of Tanzania's top attractions . The site is home to lush vegetation and a large population of wild animals. Among the shows that make the park famous among tourists: the great migration of white-bearded wildebeest. Each year, more than 1.5 M of these ungulate mammals migrate to this location.

The wildlife of Serengeti National Park is very diverse. It is home to several plains animals, herbivores, carnivores, reptiles as well as a large number of migratory birds. Through different circuits, the site allows visitors to observe buffaloes, elephants, elands, impalas, striped hyenas, giraffes, Grant's gazelles, topis, kongonis, lions, cheetahs, leopards, servals, Nile crocodiles, leopard tortoises, Nile monitor lizards, African python, black mambas, black-necked spitting cobras, vipers, etc.
