Tips to Prepare Your Home For A Virtual Listing

Health restrictions in Ontario have forced many Toronto condo sellers to show their homes through virtual showings, bypassing in person open-houses. Now, more than ever, it’s essential to have a home that photographs well, and in order to achieve this, some adjustments could be needed.

Move Clunky Furniture

Oversized furniture can make a room look small; even a room with reasonable square footage. Removing large or oversized furniture before taking photos for a listing can create a feeling of openness. For some, this might mean tucking things away in another room to get the perfect photo, but it’s worth the effort.

When it comes to online listings, less is more. Instead of packing your rooms full of things, declutter and create an inviting space.

Neutral Colours

Try to avoid flashy paint colours. While the majority of buyers are willing to paint rooms when they move in, off-putting colour schemes can make it hard for potential buyers to envision their life in your home. Neutral colours, particularly light colours will make rooms look spacious. Likewise, something a little darker can make a cavernous room look cozy.

Use A Quality Camera or Phone

Even the most stunning luxury home looks terrible if the pictures are fuzzy. Taking quality photos is absolutely required; borrow from a friend or find an independent photographer for pictures, just ensure that your photos represent your home with the best clarity possible.
