Chartered Accountancy is one of the professional courses just like courses like engineering, Medicine, and Law. Although Chartered Accountancy is not a career option for many students. Chartered Accountancy is a primary career option for students who are pursuing commerce groups in their higher secondary school education. Although students from any branch and department can pursue Chartered Accountancy. Students from any line of study can take up Chartered Accountancy. Unlike other courses, Chartered Accountancy can be completed through self-study. Chartered Accountancy has no age limit, anyone who wishes to aspire to Chartered Accountancy can become a CA at any age. Lakhs of students join CA course but many discontinue after a failure. CA has a very less pass percentage, due to which there is a high demand for CA in India. This is one of the reasons CA being a highly paid profession.

 

Course Contents

Chartered Accountancy course consists of three courses, they are CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final. Which CA Foundation is an entry-level test for CA course. Earlier CA foundation was called as Common Proficiency Test(CPT). After clearing CA Foundation, you can register yourself for CA Intermediate. CA Intermediate consists of two groups. Each group consists of four subjects. You have to clear both the groups to clear CA Intermediate. CA Final has the same format as CA Intermediate. Chartered Accountancy course information technology training and article ship during the course of Chartered Accountancy. You have to clear all these exams, training and article ship to become a Chartered Accountant.

 

CA Course Duration

The course period of Chartered Accountancy is about 3-3.5 years if you clear all your levels in a single go. Chartered Accountancy is considered a tough course due to the struggles involved in its various levels. With proper planning and guidance, the CA course is easy to complete. The difficulty in level increases gradually, i.e. CA foundation will easier have compared to the other two levels in chartered accountancy.

 

CA Study Plan 

Plan yourself for the entire course of CA. Spend all your time preparing for your exams. Chartered Accountancy needs more concentration than other courses. Focus on your studies during the period of study. You will need more time to cover your subjects at each level. So spread your time on each topic depending upon your subjects. Devote your complete focus and attention to your studies. With proper guidance, you can become a chartered accountant.

 

CA Foundation Course

CA Foundation or CPT (Common Proficiency Test) is the entrance for Chartered Accountancy Course. +2 students can register themselves for CA Foundation directly. One has to clear his +2 board exams to appear for the CA foundation. After registering for CA Foundation, ICAI will give you 4 months to prepare yourself for your examination. Students from any stream can register for CA Foundation. But students from the commerce stream find CA Foundation easier to crack. You can register for CA foundation in your 10th standard but you can take up the exam only after clearing your 12th board education. You can start preparing from the 10th itself so that you would get more time to study. CA Foundation consists of both objective and subjective mode of question patterns. So prepare according to the question pattern and syllabus.

 

CA Intermediate Course

After CA foundation you can register for CA Intermediate. Once after registering for CA intermediate you would get a time of 6 months to prepare. During that time, you have to take up training in information technology and computer skills. This training would last for 4 weeks. This training is the eligibility to appear for CA Intermediate examinations. CA Intermediate consists of two groups. Each group consists of four subjects. You have clear both the groups to clear CA Intermediate. You have to score 40% in each subject and an overall aggregate of 50% to pass the CA Intermediate level. You can attend both the groups in a single go or you can attend in different attempts.

 

CA Final eligibility

After clearing CA Intermediate you have to get trained under a registered Chartered Accountant for an article ship period of 3 years. After completing your article ship period of 2.5 years you are eligible to register for CA Final. During this training period, you have to take up advanced training in information technology and computer skills conducted by ICAI. This is also the eligibility criteria for CA Final. You can attend another group in CA Intermediate during this article ship training period if you have cleared only one group in your CA Intermediate.

 

CA Final Course

After completing all these training and exams you are completely eligible to register for CA Final. You can register for CA Final 6 months prior to completing your training period. You can prepare for CA Final exams during these 6 months. CA Final consists of two groups similar to CA Intermediate. You have to clear both the group with 40% in each subject and an overall aggregate of 50%. After clearing both the groups in CA Final you can be a registered Chartered Accountant in the institute of chartered accountants of India. You can practice as a chartered accountant anywhere across India or you can work for any chartered accountancy firm or in various accounting sectors of work. CA is one of the highest-paid professions in India. With your years of experience increasing gradually your pay scale would increase exponentially.CA appears to be tough but with regular practice, focus, and guidance you can certainly crack the Chartered Accountancy course.
