MS is also known as Master of Surgery. MS is a three-year post-graduate program that is designed for students who have comprehensive knowledge and skills in surgical training. Candidates can pursue an MS degree and go through high-quality care and advancement in the cause of medicine and science. MS provides all the necessary knowledge of becoming a surgeon in their respective specialization. MS degree comprises of learning about the common diseases along with the diagnosis and method to treat them. For getting admission in MS, you have to complete your MBBS first.

TYPES OF MS(MASTER OF SURGERY)

MS(Master of Surgery) is a postgraduate degree. It is mandatory for students to complete MBBS before applying for MS. MCI is also known as the Medical Council of India has postulated some regulations about MS.

  • Duration- Post Graduate degree MS will have a duration of 3 years.
  • Curriculum- The authorities will decide the curriculum.

  • Assessments- PG format has formative and summative assessment.

MASTER OF SURGERY ELIGIBILITY

NEET exam conducted by the National Board of Examination(NBE), is mandatory for MS admissions. Admission to the MS course is done on the basis of the NEET exam. There are also some exceptional entrance exams known as JPIMER and AIIMS.

  • The candidate must possess an MBBS degree or provisional certificate as well.
  • Candidate must obtain provisional or permanent registration certificate issued b MCI(Medical Council of India or SMC(State Medical Council)
  • They must have completed the rotator internship and should also have the completion certificate.
