WHAT ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF GAS REGULATORS?

There are several types of gas regulators:

  • Bullnose
  • Clip-on
  • Bolt-on
  • Campingaz
  • Changeover

We will go through them one by one.

  • Bull Nose Gas Regulator- Bull Gas regulator also called POL, is a regulator that is used with propane gas cylinders. The connector is on the left hand. It has an anticlockwise thread that you can screw directly into the valve of the gas cylinder. They are available in two versions. It can either be high-pressure or low-pressure versions.
  • Clip-On Gas Regulators- Clip-on regulators are used to sitting on the top of gas cylinders. It is one of the most popular types of regulators on the market. There are various versions available that can be used in either propane or butane gas.
  • Bolt-On Gas Regulator- Bolt-On gas regulator is made only for small cylinders. They fit only to the 4.5 kg butane gas cylinder. They are screwed in the cylinder valve through a nut.
  • Campingaz Regulator- Campingaz regulators were originated from France. They are most widely used in mainland Europe. They are popular in the UK.
  • Changeover Gas Regulators- Changeover Gas regulators are used in different situations. This regulator is used when there is a requirement of more than one cylinder. When one cylinder is empty, it’ll switch to other to maintain the continuous flow of gas. Changeover gas regulators can be both- manual and automatic.
