Best Bumper Plates for Home Gym

If you're looking to buy the best bumper plates for sale, there are two main types to consider. Iron or rubber. The difference between the two is that iron bumper plates tend to be sturdier and more reliable than rubber ones. But which one is better overall?

Rubber bumper plates generally have a few pros and few cons. For one thing, they tend to have much more bounce. This bounce can come in handy when you're doing high knee lifts and other exercises where you want your weight to be distributed across multiple joints.

But if you're just trying out some stationary exercises at home, it may not be that important to you, and many people don't see the need to add bounce to an exercise plate.

The steel material used to make them is another consideration. Steel is very durable and strong, and tends to last longer than rubber, but they can't be recycled as easily. And if something does break, it's not always easy to recycle steel.

Another con of steel plates is that the cheaper they are, the less value you get for your money. If you're paying a dollar or two for a workout plate, you're not going to spend a whole lot of money on them. But if you use them over time, the steel can degrade, and it could be more expensive to replace.

A couple of factors in favor of the rubber variety are that they can usually be found in basic colors, and they cost less than steel. However, if you do a lot of cardio exercises and you need bumper plates with higher bounce, steel will generally give you better results.

Durability isn't a huge factor in this case, but if you use them frequently you'll want something that can withstand wear and tear. You can also feel comfortable buying from a company that's been around for a while. They may be more reliable than new companies, even though you don't have to pay as much for them.

Remember that the main thing you want is durable materials that won't break down easily. And make sure that you buy from a company that's been in business for quite some time, and has plenty of positive feedback from satisfied customers. While these can be expensive initially, you'll find that the price you pay in the long run will be more than worth it.
