If you are remodeling your bath and are looking for great ideas, you can be overwhelmed with numerous choices available in the market. The internet is filled with bathroom designs, and each one looks resplendent. But, which one is right for you?

Whether you're adding bathroom taps, countersinks, a toilet, or a vanity mirror, several considerations go a long way into having a bathroom design based on your preference and needs.

Here are some of the crucial tips to help you choose a bathroom design that you need:

  • Draft a budget

Bathroom renovation can cost you as much as you want to spend. If you are without a budget plan, the cost can spiral and may even put you in a financially vulnerable position. Before renovating your bathroom, research the costs of bathroom taps, vanity, toilet, bathtubs, labor, and contractor.

Consider the following things to create a budget for yourself:

  • Are you selling your home in a few years?
  • Do you wish to change the location of plumbed-in items?
  • What parts of your bathroom are important?
  • What can you afford to buy?

Choose your bathroom

Bathrooms come in various shapes, sizes, and layouts. Although you may not change the type of bathroom, it is better to look at all the options available to you before you make a decision. You can choose to have a standard bathroom, which has a sink, toilet, and shower. Based on your budget, you can opt for a half bath or wet bathroom. You can transform your half bath into a luxurious master suite. Again, you will have to factor in your budget before choosing a bathroom type.

Develop a layout

After deciding on the type of bathroom, develop a bathroom layout. It should contain the location of your toilet, sink, and shower. If you do not have enough space, you may want to expand your half bath to a full bath. For whatever reason you are renovating your bathroom, consider the layout and the cost involved.

Consider lighting

We tend to forget about lighting while deciding on a bathroom design. Bad lighting can destroy the look and utility of the space. You have options to choose from - natural lighting and artificial lighting. A golden piece of advice would be to add more windows and skylight into your bathroom design to make it feel brighter and airier.

On the other hand, you may also need an artificial lighting plan as the sun sets every day. You can choose recessed LEDs to provide ambient light, but they can cast a shadow on your face if it is an overhead light. Look for options that offer pure and broad-spectrum light, giving your skin a natural appearance.

In Short

Bathroom renovation is an exciting opportunity to design your bathroom as you have dreamed of. However, it is crucial to think carefully about your and your family's needs and wants.
