One survey on the market behavior of the tourism industry in Indonesia shows that 60 percent of tourists come to learn about culture or see the industry clad in culture. Meanwhile, only 35 percent of tourists come to enjoy nature and the rest for business and other purposes.

“If we compare it with the Maldives, for example. The first day there we can see beautiful natural scenery, but the next day we are confused about what to look for, especially if we are not lovers of water sports maybe. Unlike in Indonesia, we can shop for handicrafts, see the spectacle of traditional arts, culinary arts. That is the strength of Indonesia in many regions in Indonesia," he explained.
However, he admits that not all regions are ready to develop and promote their culture.
