What we can understand about Hard water stain is that an unwanted colored mark leaves a spot or mark which is difficult to remove. These stains can be various types as they happened accidentally. For example-

  3. Varnish stain

  6. Lacquer stain

What we can understand about hard water-

hard water means which contains high minerals.  Calcium and a lesser amount of magnesium dissolved in water bring the hardness of any water.  Regular water becomes hard water when it passes through limestone, chalk, or gypsum which contain high calcium and magnesium carbonates, sulfates.

 When the ph level of water will above 8.5 then it considered hard water.

Due to the presence of heavy minerals in hard water, this water has some disadvantages-

  1. Blockage of water pipes
  2. Not suitable for washing as it creates less foam with soap.
  3. With the reaction of soap, it creates scum.
  4. Presence of calcium and magnesium in hard water place furring in kettles.
  5. Hard water tastes bitter that transferred any beverages (example- tea, coffee) taste bitter.

What we can understand about hard water stains?

When droplets of hard water become dry and leave calcium, magnesium, or iron minerals which create a spot of discoloration that is called hard water stains.

 

This looks like a whitish deposit after evaporating the water.

How to get clear of hard water stains from bathroom tile:

Hard water stains can build up on the faucets, sinks, or showers and can leave an ugly stain.

 Below are some of the tips on how to get rid of stains from bathroom tiles-

  1. By using vinegar-Make a solution of equal part of vinegar and water then spread the solution on the stains directly. You can store the solution in a spray bottle then use this later on. Keep the solution to stay on the stain for some time then scrub this by using a brush or sponge. You can use some baking soda as well if the stain is hard to get rid of.
  2. By using salt- Wet the tiles before you spread the salt onto them. Allow it by keeping the salt for 30 minutes or more. After that, scrub this with a brush or sponge. This method is very effective to cut down the stubborn hard water stains.

How to get rid of hard water stains from porcelain sink:

Using baking soda and vinegar-Make, baking soda and vinegar and applying the same on the stain. Keep it for 15-20 minutes. Then wipe the area when the color will be starting to change. Rinse with cold water.

  • By applying vinegar and tartar- Prepare a paste by using equal parts of tartar and vinegar. Apply this cleaner by using a sponge or cloth, and then start to scrub the stain in a small circular motion. Keep it for few minutes then wash this out with normal water.
  • Using lime juice-Squeeze fresh lime juice and spray the juice directly on the stain. Scrub the stain after 15 minutes then wash with clean water. Repeat the same process if you will not get your desire result.
  1. White porcelain can be bleached- Cover the white porcelain with a paper towel then sprays the bleach on top. This paper towel allows the bleach to keep it for a longer time so that it can work well. Scrub the surface by using a brush and rinse this with clean water.

How to get rid of hard water stains from Ceramic bowl:

Prepare a paste by using water, vinegar, and baking soda. Apply the paste to the ceramic bowl then scrub it. You can repeat the process if it is hard to remove.

How to get rid of hard water stains from swimming pool tiles:

Prepare a solution of 1 part of pool muriatic acid and 10 parts of water in a container or bucket then pour the same direction on the tiles. Allow several minutes to saturate. Scrub the same with a nylon pool brush then wash thoroughly with clean water several times.

How to get rid of hard water stains from shower door glass:

Prepare a solution of equal parts of white vinegar and liquid dishwashing soap and pour the solution in a spray bottle. Spray the same on the glass door and wipe off with a cloth or soft sponge.

 

Hard water not only leaves stubborn marks on various surfaces it can also be a cause of blockage of the drain in several areas.

Flushing the drain with hot water:

  • If your kitchen pipe is made with PVC or plastic then (60 degrees Celsius) or for other pipes (100 degrees Celsius) boil the water near about 3 cups.
  • Add a little bit of dishwashing soap into it then pour the same down the drain. Soap will help to cut down the grease from the pipeline.
  • Then pour cold water near about 3 cups to remove any extra debris or grease.
  • Again flush the drain with some hot water. You can repeat the process for several times a week.

Using  white vinegar and baking soda:

  • Pour one cup of baking soda into the drain.
  • Heat up one cup of white vinegar.
  • Pour down the warm vinegar.
  • Let it sit for one hour.
  • Pour down boiling water to flush the drain from the remaining particles.

This process helps to keep the drainage bad odor-free and clean the drain properly.

Put some salt down your drain:

Salt helps break down the grease from the kitchen sink and emulsified fats so that warm vinegar and hot water can flush down the debris from the pipes.

 

You can pour some salt every night into the kitchen drain.
