The four main Hyperpigmentation Treatment are chemical peels, IPL, laser, and anti-pigmentation creams such as hydroquinone. The best treatment for excess pigmentation depends on what is causing the excess pigment and often involves combination therapy. Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and melasma are treated with chemical peels and skin whitening cream, while skin discoloration due to sun exposure or heredity is treated with IPL and laser. We have a BBL Sciton IPL and a picolaser.

What is hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation is excess melanin production that causes skin discoloration and dark spots on the skin. The most popular treatments for hyperpigmentation are anti-pigmentation creams, followed by peels, followed by laser and IPL.

Types of hyperpigmentation

Examples of skin pigmentation include age spots, liver spots, melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and dark spots on the skin from sun damage. Sun discoloration includes freckles, age spots, and liver spots. Melasma is also caused in part by the sun.

1- Chemical peels to treat hyperpigmentation

Chemical peels help remove excess pigment by removing the old damaged skin surface. Peels exfoliate excess melanin and stimulate the formation of new layers of healthy skin. Jessner peels, TCA peels or Vitamin A peels are our preferred peels for treating hyperpigmentation. A series of peels are required, which are usually combined with whitening creams.

2- IPL to get rid of skin discoloration

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) or Photo Facial are excellent choices to reduce skin discoloration caused by sun exposure. It removes red from capillaries and brown from age spots in one step. It not only reduces dark spots on the skin, but also restores an even complexion to the skin. IPL cannot be used on darker skin. IPL is not suitable for the treatment of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Dermatologists worked very hard to figure out the reason for this, and their results had one thing in common. Hyperpigmentation due to hormonal imbalance has been identified as the main cause of hyperpigmentation without any external stimuli. Let's check what's behind this by looking at the following points.
