How's the future after engineering from a private university?

With many high paying jobs and prestigious work profiles, engineering has become the most preferred field of study. Every year lakhs of students appear for the engineering entrance test seeking admission to the engineering programme at good institutes. India is home to around 4000 engineering colleges; out of these, more than 50% of colleges are run privately. Most of the top engineering institutes in India are public institutes, including IITs, NITs, and JMI, and many more. With offering quality learning opportunities and placement, many private institutes are also very famous among the students.

However, students in India prefer to enrol in public engineering institutions. The main reason behind opting for the public engineering institution is that most private engineering institutes fail to provide a better learning experience and placement to their students. The unemployment rate in engineering students is higher than other field students in India. While selecting a private engineering college, several questions come to student’s mind. Many students wonder what career scopes they can have after completing an engineering course from a private engineering university/college. This article will discuss the possible career options after engineering from a private university in Faridabad:

Campus Placement: This is the primary concern of every student who wants to enrol in a private institute. Many private institutes fail to deliver the placement as they showcase on their website. However, many private institutes manage to provide placement to their engineering students. Students can participate in campus placement drive and bag the job offers from reputed recruiters.

If you are desire to be placed in campus placement, you must select the private institute wisely. Do not always follow brand when it comes to select a suitable college. Rather than selecting a branded private university, go for a university that imparts quality education and manages to provide placement to its students. For example, if you are looking for a private university in Faridabad to pursue an engineering course, you can select Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth University. This university has do not spend crores on branding; it simply focuses on improving its infrastructure and quality of education. Besides this, Lingaya's Vidyapeeth fee structure is also lower than its other counterparts.

Higher Study: After completing the UG level engineering programme, students either go for jobs or pursue higher studies. A large number of candidates prepare for GATE and other entrance tests for M.Tech admission. Overall, higher study is another good option if you are looking for a decent job in engineering.

Job at PSU: Another good option for students holding UG level engineering degree from private institutes is applying for a job at PSU (Public Sector Undertaking). PSUs include the reputed companies that are owned by the state or central, or both governments. Some of the most famous PSU companies are BHEL, Hindustan Copper Limited, LIC, and NALCO. PSU companies offer lucrative job opportunities on a permanent or temporary, or contractual basis. Several reputed PSU companies consider students with a good GATE score.

Job at Private Companies: It is undeniable that many engineering institutes do not provide campus placement to their engineering candidates. Such candidates need not worry too much because they are still eligible for all kinds of engineering jobs. Such candidates need to polish their engineering skills and apply for a job at private companies. Many private institutes make job offers to students who are not placed during campus placement.

Besides the scopes mentioned above, the candidates also have plenty of other options such as adding some expertise or certification, going abroad for higher study, going for entrepreneurship, preparing for civil services examination, opting for teaching and many more.
