Dos Protection By Cloudflare - What Can I Do?

Have you heard of DDoS (dropshipping) or do not know what it is? It is an attack on your system caused by malicious software that loads a website and then proceeds to make unwanted transactions to your account. A lot of people do not know what a DDoS is but we can explain it briefly. Here is an explanation of what a DDoS is and how Cloudflare can help you prevent or reduce the risks of getting a DDoS attack.

A DDoS refers to a Distributed Denial of Service Attack. It is caused by attackers flooding a server with lots of requests. The server responds by making all of the requests for web resources and slows down dramatically. If you are online at the time of the attack, it could take several hours for your site to return to normal. This is where a Cloudflare ddos protection strategy can be helpful.

When an attacker floods your server with lots of requests, it is called a Distributed Denial of Service attack (DDoS). Unlike a simple virus that spreads by spreading its code, DDoS comes from attackers using their own IP addresses to send fake messages to legitimate sites. Cloudflare is used to prevent these attacks by placing all of your sites on the same IP network. As the world gets smaller, IP addresses become more valuable so the investment in Cloudflare's DDoS protection strategy is very worthwhile.

Cloudflare utilizes their own scalable server infrastructure that consists of servers in the United States, Europe, Canada, and the United Kingdom. They have state-of-the-art equipment that allows them to provide fast and consistent results when it comes to your web pages. The best part about Cloudflare is that they have two different attack modes. The first is the Normal attack mode that sends three million ICQ messages per second to your Cloudflare servers. This mode has been known to cause a lot of downtime for customers, but with the addition of a Cloudflare DNS server that has the ability to enforce a no-less checking policy, this attack mode is rendered useless.

The second attack mode that is used by hackers to try and bring down your site is called a Cloudflare Sandbox. A Cloudflare sandbox is a replica of the IP address of your website. If an IP address in the Cloudflare network has been joined by another domain, the attackers get an invalid target URL, which they redirect to. In the case of an approved domain, if any of the sub-routers has been joined by another website, then the attack will fail.

Now, let us look at what can cause a DNS server to be banned by Cloudflare. If your website's main page is not hosted on Cloudflare then there may be two reasons for this. First, your IP address is listed on Cloudflare as an internal sub-net. Second, you may have used too many internal sub-nets. If your IP address is listed on Cloudflare as an internal sub-net then you must use Cloudflare DNS server to connect to it instead of your primary website. If this is the reason for your ban then you will have to change your DNS settings yourself or contact Cloudflare support and they will help you make the necessary changes to the configurations on your account.

Unfortunately, there is a very simple way for you to bypass DDoS Protection by Cloudflare and that is by using an anonymous proxy. Using this type of service will let you bypass any restrictions placed on your account. For example, if your account was banned by Cloudflare for abusing Flash then using a proxy service which does not restrict you from using ddos proxy will let you surf the Internet normally.

Another option open to you is to use an open source dedicated web development platform like Joomla. As long as you use this platform in conjunction with a web hosting company that offers a full stack web developer program, you will be able to bypass Cloudflare and go directly to your official website hosted on a different server. Although this solution is much more complex, it is also the most reliable and secure. If you are still in doubt however, then choose to use Joomla and opencast instead.
