Are cheap third-party air coolers worth it?

Are cheap third-party air coolers worth it?

The PS24 Deepcool Gammaxx S40 (below) was the most affordable third-party cooler. The cooler has one 120mm fan. The PS34 CoolerMaster Hyper 212LED also features a 120mm fan, and a larger heatsink. Clear air exists between the units, even though the PS10 price difference is small.

Noise tests revealed a slight gap. The Hyper 212 was slightly louder than its less expensive counterpart at idle, but only a little more when stressed. Stock coolers can be used to cool moderate processors. I have also sorted the ultimate list of the best CPU coolers for I9 9900K.

However, third-party coolers will work better for cooling high-end components. These coolers are also more reliable for those who plan to overclock their computer or need to keep it quiet.

Cheap liquid coolers: Not worth the money

Water coolers are becoming more popular than air coolers. They also come in a variety of price points, making them more affordable than air-based units. The Cooler Master Seidon120VV2 (below), and Antec KuhrH600 Pro cost PS40. This is a minor difference from the budget air coolers.

Both water and air-based units outperformed Gammaxx Air Cooler. They were both more efficient in application and gaming. The PS34 Hyper 212 placed second.

The Seidon, however, is slightly louder. The bottom line is that liquid coolers can be expensive. They were more expensive that an air cooler but performed similarly to the other liquid coolers I tested.

However, the Antec failed to perform well during overclocked testing. I wouldn't consider a water based unit less expensive. A liquid cooler is also an option if you are looking for a cleaner unit with lower ambient temperatures. This will offer better air-cooled graphics performance. This will make noise and bring down the returns on investment for most people.

Expensive liquid coolers: A better bet

I also tested the PS125 Corsair Hydro H115i ( below), which is a radiator/fan combo that pairs a radiator of 280mm with two 140mm fans.

It was compared to a high-end PC with a water cooling loop. It has 360mm and 220mm radiators as well as a 250mm reservoir and high-end cooling kit from EKWB.

Corsair coolers can be more expensive than Corsair coolers.

Conclusion

This feature has seen me perform dozens of benchmarks. My extensive testing and years of building computers have shown that there is no simple solution to cooling. It is better to choose the cooler that best suits your system. The stock coolers of AMD and Intel - which get a lot of flack – have their place. These coolers will be fine for building low-end machines for work or general computing. If you are looking for best unbiased reviews for PC, tech or products then PCFIED is your one stop shop. I hope this article would help a little bit about staying away from cheap CPU stock coolers.
