How To Sell a Car In Pakistan?

Are you looking to upgrade your car? Sell the old one for good money and buy a new one? Buckle up, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. But, hey, don’t get too worried. With our selling a car guide, you’ll get there the easiest way. All you need to do is follow the steps and do your best job at each one. Let’s get started.

  • Post an ad

First thing you want to do, after making up your mind to sell car, is posting about it on a trusted platform. Doing so will make your offer visible to the masses. People can check out your car and call you to discuss the offer. Here are a few things you need to check to post an ad.

Wash and clean your car

When selling your car, you need to make it presentable on the outside. The cleaner the car, the better the offers. So, the first thing you need to do is give it a nice warm bath and clean all the dirt and mud off of it. Next, you want to get rid of all the scratches and marks and refresh the paint. Now, clean the cabin by taking out the trash, vacuuming the seats and the floor, and spraying a nice car air freshener.

Get it serviced and detailed

All done with beautifying the looks of your car? The next thing on the list is to make sure everything works the way you want. The lights, the gears, the engine, and everything else. You can pay a visit to your trusted mechanic and ask them to inspect the car for any faults and fix everything. Since you’ve been driving the car yourself, you must already know its lags and shortcomings. You can tell the mechanic all about them and save both parties their time.

Not getting the broken things fixed is also an option. In that case, you need to give the buyer a heads up about the known faults of your car, so they can get them fixed on their own. However, spending a few more thousand rupees and getting everything repaired before selling the car is the recommended choice. This way, you can claim that the car is in the best shape and get the best offer.

Take good pictures

Once your car is ready to go on display, it’s time to photograph its beauty. Take high-quality pictures of the exterior and interior because this is the make and break of your end of the deal. Here are a few tips for taking the best photos of your car.

  • Take pictures in daylight
  • Park the car in the right spot
  • Take pictures of the front, the back, the engine, the cabin, the dashboard, and a full picture of the car
  • Take all pictures in the portrait mode
  • Use a high-quality camera

Set the right price

For the price of your car, you may already have a number in mind. But you need to make sure you are asking for the right price. If it’s too high, you’ll scare most buyers away and it’ll be hard to sell your car. If it’s too low, you’ll sell it right away but at a loss. So, research a bit, ask around a few friends, and call expert sellers before adding a price tag.

Add your contact information

After uploading the pictures and adding a price, the last thing to finish your ad is to add your active phone number. Do that, and click submit. You are all done for the first step! Now, get ready for step two, that is answering a few questions on the call and inviting potential buyers to have a look at your car.

  • Negotiate with buyers

Posting an ad is a comparatively easier process than negotiating with buyers. This is the actual struggle. You will receive a lot of calls, and most of them will just be people trying to waste your time with their absurd questions and vague offers. You have got to answer them all and screen down your potential buyers. The key is to assess their degree of interest in your car. If a buyer does not waste your time asking a lot of questions and wants to come visit and see your car, that’s the one.

Set a date and time for the visit, and show the buyer around. Let them take the car for a spin if they want and give them a test drive. It’s okay, it will all come full circle. Once the buyer is satisfied with everything, you can then go on and discuss the offer. If he or she agrees to your price, great. If not, you can do a bit of negotiation and come to a middle ground.

  • Make the transfer

The last and the easiest step is to transfer the vehicle documents to the buyer’s name and take the payment. Take full payment and then make the vehicle transfer. Congratulations, you did it!
