Services: Disable click-to-run
Use a third-party installer.
Get the Office version that's not Click-to Run.
Deactivate Click-to-run in Control Panel
Disable Click-to-run using Task Manager

1. Disable Click-To-Run From Services

To launch Run, press the Windows + R hotkey.
Type services.msc, and press OK.
Right-click Microsoft Office Click to Run service and select Properties
Go to the General tab and click Startup type. Pull down the menu, then select Disable.
Click OK to restart your computer

2. Try Using A Third-Party Uninstaller

It is quick and easy to deactivate Office Click-to Run on Windows 10 using a third party tool like Revo Uninstaller.

This utility takes complete control of the uninstall process and removes everything that any other official uninstaller leaves behind.

Once you've completed the uninstall using the built-in Uninstaller, press the Next button and continue with Revo Uninstaller.

This will trigger scanning for leftovers. To see the results, press Next again after scanning is complete.
Although third-party uninstallers may not be a tool you use often, Revo Uninstaller might be an exception. tap on office.com/myaccount

3. Download The Office Version That Is Not Click-To-Run

Sign in to the Office site you have purchased and use your Live ID.
To access your Office downloads, click My Account at the top.
Click Download for the Suite you have purchased, then click Advanced Options under download now.
There is an Office version that isn't available via Office Click-to Run and doesn't require the Q: drive to run.

4. Uninstall Click-To-Run From Control Panel

Click Start to go to Control Panel.
Click on the Programs & Features tab.
Click on Uninstall or Change a Program.
Click on Microsoft Office Click to-Run in the list of installed program.
Click on Uninstall.
Click YES to be prompted to delete all Click-to-Run applications.
