Burkitt's lymphoma (BL) is a lymphatic system malignancy. It's one of several lymphoma types, the most common of which is Hodgkin's lymphoma. Lymphatic abscess, blood cancer, and lymphedema are some of the various names for it. The majority of instances start in later childhood, and there are frequently no symptoms. However, early indications such as pain in the lower back or neck, weight loss or swelling, or prolonged swelling of the ankles can lead to a late diagnosis in some situations.

Pemphigoid leukaemia, patellar leukoplakia, and lymphedema lymphoedema are some of the alternative names for Burkitt's lymphoma. It was first discovered in African children who had contracted peritoneal malaria. Researchers discovered a molecular anomaly called patellar tendinosis in nearly half of all Burkitt lymphoma patients after studying these patients. The condition is characterised by a proliferation of lymphatic vessels that does not follow a predictable pattern. Burkitt lymphoma treatment usually involves combination chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery.
