Factors to be considered while choosing a Spiritual Companion

Spiritual Companioning is those who care about their spiritual well-being, personal development, and achieving their greatest potential. They may assist them in gaining new skills or knowledge, offer direction and wisdom in making decisions, or hold them accountable in how they interact with themselves and the environment around them.

Theologian's Religious is not without flaws. They are not required to be without flaws. They don't have to be community elders or ordained members. However, they should be spiritually more mature than you and should push you to grow. They should be friendly, warm, and loving. They should be genuine, encouraging, and approachable. They should also be approachable and willing to mentor others. When selecting a mentor, there are numerous factors to consider. There may be specific areas that are of greatest interest to you, depending on your ideas and values. To get you started, here are a few suggestions.

1. DO THEY AID IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THEY LIVE?

Is their home, job, church, neighbourhood, or organization better off as a result of their presence, and are they worried about the state of these communities? Spiritual wellness should be reflected vertically and horizontally, and vice versa. Apathy and apathy toward the suffering of others indicate a lack of knowledge of their interconnectedness and the importance of justice and balance in the cosmos.

2. DO THEIR VALUES AND BELIEFS SUPPORT AND CHALLENGE YOUR OWN?

How do they feel about spirituality? Religion? Church? Culture? Politics? Do these beliefs ring true for you? Your spiritual mentor doesn't have to share your same viewpoints and ideas, but they should share comparable underlying principles, and their beliefs should encourage you to question your own.

3. DO THEY HAVE A STRONG SENSE OF INTEGRITY AND SELF-WORTH?

One of the most significant issues in society, particularly for Black people, is that they are continually reminded that they are insufficient. As a result, they are continuously seeking approval from others and are reliant on the outside world for guidance on who they should be. Regardless of the behaviour of others or the situation, a good spiritual mentor should know who they are and who they are becoming and strive to be that person.

4. DO THEY HAVE A MATURE RELATIONSHIP WITH PERSONAL CHALLENGES AND HARDSHIPS IN THEIR LIFE?

This isn't to say that they don't have setbacks, breakdowns, or make mistakes, or that they are always "positive." It does imply that they regard life's hardships as significant defining events. It also implies that they will be able to recover, heal, and learn from their experiences. They live a life that is distinguished by certainty rather than spiritual pain.
