Therefore, read the whole article by calming your nerves and adopting a positive attitude.

How to write a work experience report (APEGS)?

The following are the tips for writing perfect APEGS work experience reporting:

1. Your report quality must be with a professional standard similar to an engineering report submitted to a supervisor, client or colleague. Your report is read and evaluated with an eagle eye, so your report deserves a high level of standard.

2. Keep your writing short and point-to-point. Just give the information you are asked for. Using more space than provided in the text boxes on each form page is imprudent. You have to stay within the limit here, but the supervisors and mentors can use as much information as they find information in the comment boxes.

3. Use professional judgement in choosing appropriate examples.

4. You must be specific in describing your work and your projects. You must provide real examples of the projects you took. Your projects must represent your work type along with specific details related to them. You must avoid resume-style information, as it is unacceptable. Your supervisor and (mentor if applicable) are aware of your responsibilities, but the examples must have important and sufficient information in a way that others in your work field, which includes reviewers on the experience review committee, can easily understand the specific work done. it is especially important in the case of having a change of your supervisor or mention in the reporting period, and you are giving examples from your work that you did under a previous supervisor.

5. Every point in your working report must have specific information on what you did (specific engineering project example, background, circumstances, your responsibilities and role); how you did it (the tasks, methods, challenges and the like you had); the result, which includes your role in the success of the project.

6. You must give a specific description of your role in the project examples. You can also give a short description of the project, but each point in your work report must have at least one sentence written in the first person singular. Avoid using words like assisted, involved with or participated or the same general references to your work, as it can’t show that you worked on the project personally.

 7. You need to identify your profession from the last report. if there is not any change or little from one period to the next, you’d better not that the work is a continuation of the last experience (while still giving details of the specific projects you are doing) and identify how complexity, challenges and responsibility increased since the last report and the stages of a project (like the design to implementation) you have gone through.

 8. You can use a single project many times in different areas of the report as an example. For instance, a project can illustrate the use of theory (assisting in the design of a component), practical experience (monitoring how the component is working in the field, (management (giving advice or supervising technicians, monitoring costs) and social implication awareness (impact on the environment). however, you can use different projects and tasks to show the variety of the engineering experience you gained.
