Digital Photography

Digital photography has revolutionized the way photos are taken and shared. No longer do you have to worry about developing film or getting prints back from the photo lab. With digital photography, all your photos are stored on your computer or camera's memory card until you choose to delete them.

One of the best things about digital photography is that you can take as many pictures as you want without running out of the film. And if one of your photos doesn't turn out the way you wanted, you can just delete it and try again. You also don't have to worry about losing your photos if something happens to your camera - they're all safely stored on your computer.

the great thing about digital photography is that you don't have to wait a long time for your pictures. Even if you take several pictures in a row, they all show up on the screen right away Wit regular filmmcamerasa,s it could take several minutes or hours to get prints back from the photo lab - and sometimes the pictures wouldn't turn out right!

For organizations that need to make large quantities of archival photographs, digital photography offers efficiency and cost savings over wet-chemical or silver-halide processes used in traditional photography. Although digital photography requires sophisticated equipment and consumes more power than other camera technologies, its widespread use and rapidly decreasing costs drive economies of scale that favour digital manufacturing.

Digital images are usually created using CMOS or CCD sensors which produce two types of data: digital video and digital stills.

Digital Video can be output to devices such as LCD projectors, monitors or TVs. Digital stills are output using methods including MOS, USB port or IEEE-1394 (Firewire).

Some of the most common uses for digital photography include:

Although it is possible to use any small format camera to take digitized film images that can then be put onto a computer or other device, some camera models are specifically designed for this purpose. They usually have CCD sensors rather than the CMOS sensors found on more traditional cameras. These types of cameras are sometimes called "digital backs" because they attach to the back of an existing camera through a modified film plate. Some of them can even be used to take regular 35 mm photographs.

Many digital cameras today have some sort of built-in LCD screen that allows you to view your photos as you take them. This is especially handy if the lighting conditions aren't good because it lets you hold your hand in front of the camera lens while still being able to see what's going on. The downside is this reduces battery life because the LCD uses up power very quickly! Digital photography is much more popular than film photography now for several reasons: 1) No need to buy and carry around lots of rolls of film 2) Ability to instantly review photos, delete bad shots 3) Store hundreds or thousands of images at once.
