On The Road With A Ferrari Daytona SP3

Even if you aren't a major admirer of Ferrari's newer models, you have to agree that the Daytona SP3 has a unique appearance. It combines classic styling with the current aerodynamic developments to create the most aerodynamically efficient Ferrari car ever. And it's only feasible because of the supercar's beautiful, old-school looks, as it lacks active aero. It's the best-looking car in the Icona range, in our opinion.

If you've previously seen the official press images of the car, you have have a fair sense of how the Daytona SP3 appears from every aspect. We even posted a video of a white example (see associated links below), and now we're excited to discuss an automobile that was recorded on public roads. Varryx saw it and uploaded the video on YouTube. You can watch it below:

We're a little startled to see the supercar with full-body camouflage, but even without it, it looks rather unique and out of this planet. We don't know what Ferrari is doing with the car right now, but we're guessing it's finalizing the powerplant and chassis. We don't think this is a production sample being tested before delivery, although it's possible.

Ferrari has been tight-lipped on the number of Daytona SP3 vehicles it will build, but we believe the vast majority, if not all, have already been sold. There is no official price for the third Icona member, however some reports indicate the Maranello-based carmaker wants at least $2,250,000 for it.

The vehicle is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine, which is the most powerful Ferrari has ever manufactured for a road-legal car in this form. It takes just 2.86 seconds to accelerate to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) with 828 horsepower (617 kilowatts) and 514 pound-feet (697 Newton-meters) of torque. The run from 0 to 124 mph (0 to 200 kph) takes 7.4 seconds.
