As an inmate in the Federal prison system, Tyler King has experienced the criminal justice system in a way almost unimaginable. Indicted in 2018, he choose to take his case to trial. His crime? Teaching someone about computers (watch out all teachers and professors), which she used to hack into her noss’s e-mail – not to steal money, but to find hidden information for a sexual harassment case that her employer was attempting to make disappear.
At Millhaven Institution, every visitor, including the victims staying there, must report at the security desk.
A visitor card is issued, and it should be visible to institutional staff at all times during the visit.
Observers and victims will be greeted by a Parole Board of Canada Regional Communication Officer.
A Correctional Service of Canada will lead them to the waiting and hearing rooms.
Here, visitors must go through a metal detector where the person is thoroughly checked.
