Melissa Essential Oil is extracted from the leaves and flowers of Melissa Officinalis, through Steam Distillation. The name Melissa is derived from Greek, meaning ‘Honeybee’ and it is also known as Lemon Balm in United States. It belongs to the same family of plants as Mint; Lamiaceae, and it is native to Europe, Central Asia and Iran. Melissa or Lemon Balm is main ingredient in, Carmelite water, it is also used as an ornamental plant to attract honey bees. It is used to flavour foods and drinks and it the signature taste in Peppermint tea. It was also used to treat Gastro issues, improve nervous system and increase liver functioning.



Melissa Essential Oil has a very sweet lemony scent which is used in Aromatherapy; to treat Insomnia, Depression, Anxiety, Headache, Stress and increase Cognitive function. It is also used in making soaps, handwashes and Perfumes. It is used in massage therapy for its anti-spasmodic nature and carminative properties, to treat Muscle aches, Digestive issues and increase blood flow. It is added to Perfumes and Deodorants for its calming and refreshing aroma. It is used in making skin treatments for Boils, Pimples, Cuts, Herpes, Ringworm infection, Athlete’s foot, Acne and Allergies. It is added to diffusers to relieve stress, and create a calming environment. It is added to room fresheners and room cleaners as well.
