Here Are 9 Things You Should Know About ISO 45001

WHAT’S NEW WITH ISO 45001 CERTIFICATION?

All activities necessary to systematically implement occupational health and safety legislation and requirements are now launched and regulated. A company's level of management, therefore, expects that occupational health and safety play a central role and is more strongly integrated into processes. It is an international standard that indicates the necessities connected to the occupational health and safety management system (OHS) aimed at improving the security of employees. ISO 45001:2018 is an umbrella structure that can be applied to all types of organizations and structures, regardless of their nature, type, and size. Along with the revised ISO 9001 Certification for quality management and ISO 14001 Certification for environmental management, it follows the so-called "high-level structure". The new ISO 45001 will explicitly make it easier for businesses to bring together all relevant aspects of quality and security at work and protect the environment, for instance, through a management system.

WHERE WILL CERTIFICATION UNDER THE NEW STANDARD BE APPROPRIATE?

Today's OHSAS 18001 certification is suitable for all companies in all industries. Everything will remain the same with the new international standard ISO 45001.  If you want to permanently reduce occupational health and safety risks for your employees, visitors, suppliers and service providers, get your Health and Safety Management Certification.

WHAT CONSTITUTES ISO 45001 CERTIFICATION?

The purpose of an ISO 45001 Certification is to reduce the risk of injury and illness at the workstation. This is an opportunity for you to align your strategic direction with your occupational health and safety management system. Furthermore, it emphasizes senior management accountability and extends beyond the scope of employee training.

HOW SOON WILL ISO 45001 BE PUBLISHED?

The first draft international standard (DIS) was voted down in May 2016. In July 2017, ISO 45001 was accepted as its second draft. In September 2017, the International Standards Committee will evaluate the voting results and comments and make a decision.

WILL THE NEW ISO 45001 REGULATION REPLACE THE EXISTING OHSAS 18001 CERTIFICATION?

It has not been conclusively stated whether the planned international ISO 45001 standard will completely replace OHSAS or whether it will apply at the same time.

HOW WILL THE CERTIFICATES BE TRANSLATED/DELIVERED?

Under the current circumstances, OHSAS 18001:2007 certified companies can upgrade their occupational health and safety management system to ISO 45001.

WHAT WILL BE THE ADVANTAGES OF THE PROPOSED ISO 45001 CERTIFICATION?

The ISO 45001 Certification allows you to reduce the number of accidents at work through a systematic approach to occupational health and safety with ISO 45001 certification on our part.

HOW WILL ISO 45001 DISTINGUISH ITSELF FROM OTHER HEALTH AND SAFETY CERTIFICATION SCHEMES?

The ISO 45001 Certification is an internationally recognized health and safety management system for each company in each sector.

HOW IMPORTANT IS WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY AT THE MOMENT?
