Biofertilizers:

Today, everyone needs strong agricultural production since it directly affects our ability to eat; in this context, the significance of good agricultural production is clear. The economy of many tiny or underdeveloped nations depends on agricultural production. The World Bank estimates that the contribution of agriculture to the global economy and GDP is roughly 4%. Numerous elements, including good soil, water, fertilisers, skilled workers, and others, are necessary for a healthy agricultural production. The most important factor affecting agricultural yield is fertiliser. A type of chemical or natural ingredient that aids in crop production is called a fertiliser. However, chemical fertilisers, which are highly responsive to bio fertilisers, are typically used to achieve speedy agricultural yields.



Overview of Biofertilizers



The fourth most prevalent element in all living biomass after hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen is nitrogen (N), which is necessary for life (Howarth, 2009). For instance, N is a necessary component of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), amino acids, nucleic acids, chlorophyll, and other molecules (Werner and Newton, 2005). One significant source of nitrogen in soils is organic nitrogen, which must undergo microbial mineralization to become inorganic nitrogen that plants may use (Paul, 2015). However, plants cannot directly utilise N2, which is found in the environment as N2, and must instead be made available through biological N2-fixation (BNF) (Figure 1). The enzyme nitrogenase transforms atmospheric N2 to ammonia through a labor-intensive process.
