1、Electric power system

Power systems using wire and cable products are mainly overhead bare wire, busbar (busbar), power cable (plastic cable, oil paper force cable (basically replaced by plastic power cable), rubber cable, overhead insulated cable), branch cable (to replace part of the busbar), electromagnetic wire and electrical equipment for power equipment wire and cable.

This section is used for almost all products except overhead bare wires, but mainly for power cables, electromagnetic wires, data cables, instrumentation cables, etc.

Wire and Cable Products are Divided into Five Main Categories

1, Bare wire and bare conductor products

The main characteristics of these products are: pure conductor metal, no insulation and sheath layer, such as steel-core aluminium stranded wire, copper and aluminium busbar, electric locomotive wire, etc.; processing techniques are mainly pressure processing, such as melting, calendering, drawing, stranding/tight compression stranding, etc.; products are mainly used in the suburbs, rural areas, user main lines, switchgear, etc.

2, Power cables

The main characteristics of this product are: extruded (wrapped) insulation layer outside the conductor, such as overhead insulated cables, or several cores stranded (corresponding to the phase, zero and ground lines of the power system), such as two-core overhead insulated cables, or additional sheathing layer, such as plastic/rubber wire and cable. The main process technologies are drawing, stranding, insulation extrusion (wrapping), cable formation, armouring, sheathing extrusion, etc. The different process combinations for various products are somewhat different.

The products are mainly used in the transmission of strong electrical energy in power generation, distribution, transmission, transformation and supply lines, where the current passed is large (tens to thousands of amps) and the voltage is high (220V to 500kV and above).

3, Electrical equipment with wire and cable

The main features of this category are: a wide range of specifications, a wide range of applications, the use of voltage in 1kV and below more, in the face of special occasions continue to derive new products, such as fire-resistant cables, flame-retardant cables, low smoke halogen-free / low smoke low halogen cables, anti-termites, anti-rat cables, oil/cold/temperature / wear-resistant cables, medical/agricultural/mining cables, thin-walled wires, etc.

4, Communication cables and optical fibres (brief introduction)

With the rapid development of the communications industry in the last two decades, the products have also had an amazing rate of development. In the past simple telephone and telegraph cables developed into thousands of pairs of words cable, coaxial cables, optical cables, data cable, and even combined communications cable.

The structural dimensions of these products are usually small and uniform, with high manufacturing precision required.

Derivative/new products of wire and cable are mainly produced by adopting new materials, special materials, changing the structure of the product, improving the process requirements, or combining different varieties of products due to different applications, application requirements and convenience and cost reduction of the equipment.

Using different materials such as flame retardant cables, low smoke and halogen-free/low smoke and low halogen cables, termite resistant, rat resistant cables, oil-resistant/cold resistant/temperature resistant cables, etc.

Changing the product structure e.g. fire-resistant cables, etc.

Improving process requirements e.g. medical cables, etc.

Combination products e.g.: OPGW, etc.
