Polarized or anti-glare glasses will help you lower the light glare and strain on your eyes. Due to this exclusive feature, they help to improve your vision and safety during the sun. While you are working or playing outdoors, you might be frustrated and it can even cause temporary blindness by the reflected light and glare. This can be potentially dangerous issue that polarization can easily handle. Polarized glasses be it circular polarised glasses or linear polarised glasses have an unusual chemical applied to them to filter light. The molecules from chemical are arranged to block some light from easily passing through your lens. Consider it as a mini blinder hanging over a window. Light that passes through the blinder openings can only be seen through it. Note that light scatters because it bounces at angles over an object’s bumpy surface. However, if the surface is level as calm water or a flat sheet of metal, light might reflects at some angle. When this light reflects in your eyes, this is what we call glare effect. Polarized glasses help to lower glare and solve the issue.

How do polarised glasses work?

Light scatters in all directions, but when the flat surfaces reflect it, it becomes polarised leading it to travel in a more consistent direction. This creates dangerous intensity of reflected light that lead to more of glare and diminishing visibility.

Polarised glasses have a filter that blocks this intense light reflection and reducing glare. Though polarised sunglasses improve comfort and visibility, you will face some cases when the glasses are not advisable. The polarized glasses filter creates openings (vertical) for light to pass. Only rays approaching vertically to your eyes will fit through the openings. The lenses will block the horizontal waves by bouncing off for instance.

People who wear polarized glasses often has to state that they feel less tired than other after hours of sun glare through usual glasses. Polarized glasses are a good choice for many everyday situations. Always ensure that if your polarised glasses are identified as blocking the harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays coming from the sun, however, it doesn’t mean they are polarized. Polarized glasses have a label saying the thing about. For the comfort and accomplishment with a polarised glass, don’t forget to discuss your eye care expert about the anti-reflection coating to the back of your lenses. This will remove any disturbing reflections when the sun is at a position behind you.
