Normal blood pressure is not defined by any single number. Even when they try to agree, medical professionals and other specialists frequently disagree on what constitutes a healthy adult blood pressure range. 

 

An average adult's Blood Pressure Measurement Unit is typically thought to be between 110 and 125 over 80, while a person with naturally low blood pressure may have readings closer to 100 and 60. 

 

 Although a blood pressure reading of 140 over 90 is considered high, for older adults it is within the normal range. The blood does not flow steadily throughout the body, but rather in a continuous sequence of short, sharp bursts. As a result, the pressure in the arteries peaks immediately after a heartbeat and then gradually decreases until the next beat. This is a never-ending cycle. 

 

The two numbers reflect the pressures at the apex and the depths of the forces, respectively. When arterial walls are thicker and better able to resist the force of the blood, blood pressure drops. 

 

The numbers tend to increase because a person's arteries become less elastic as they age. However, until that person reaches their 60s, the lower number should remain below 90. 

Compared to whites, blacks have a higher prevalence of hypertension (High blood pressure), according to a number of research that compared the two groups. This has prompted more studies to establish whether or not this is ethnically determined, as opposed to being a result of things like socioeconomic status and diet alone. 

 

However, some persons with hypertension may never learn the root of the condition. They could be physically active and otherwise leading a healthy lifestyle, but nonetheless have persistently high blood pressure. This is referred to as "primary" or "essential" hypertension. However, Secondary High Blood Pressure is diagnosed when hypertension is secondary to another medical condition.

The seriousness of this illness, which can cause death from a heart attack, kidney failure, or stroke if untreated, is often underestimated. But thousands of people are unknowingly carrying a ticking time bomb within them due to their undiagnosed high blood pressure.

In general, blood pressure readings below 120 over 80 millimeters of mercury are thought to be healthy. If your numbers fall within this range, it's important to maintain heart-healthy routines like eating right and exercising regularly.  

 

When the diastolic pressure is less than 80 mm Hg and the systolic pressure is 120–129 mm Hg, the patient has hypertension. If measures aren't done to lower the raised blood pressure, a person's risk of developing high blood pressure increases. 

 

Thus, understanding your blood pressure is the key to treating the effects of blood pressure.
