The Best Vegan Menu Options and Substitutes at Red Robin

Since 1969, Red Robin has been one of our favorite casual dining places that welcomes vegans. They serve big portions of burgers and beers. Red Robin gets extra points for making it clear that their vegan options don't have any meat, poultry, animal products, eggs, or milk. Not all sit-down restaurant chains give such clear information about what you should eat.

Red Robin's house Vegan Veggie Patty, which they made with Morningstar Farms, is a key part of their vegan menu. It can be swapped into most burgers to make them vegan-friendly. Red Robin also has the Impossible Burger as a substitute for meat. Light Life burger patties can be ordered in Canada.

All set to eat? Here is a full list menu of all the vegan options available at Red Robin.

Red Robin has a lot of vegan options, so we picked out our favorites to make your next order quick and tasty.

The Madlove Burger

Tomatoes marinated in citrus juice, jalapeno relish, avocado, red onion, and lettuce. Choose an Impossible Burger or Vegan Veggie Patty for your Madlove Burger. Swap the egg-and-butter-filled brioche for Wedgie Style (on lettuce) or a Classic Sesame or Tavern Bun. Cheese, bacon, and cheese crisps, please.

Southwest Chicken Salad

Southwest Chicken Salad has black beans, avocado, tomatoes, onions, corn, lime, and tortilla strips on top of mixed greens. You can make it vegan by replacing the chicken with an Impossible Burger or Vegan Veggie Patty, swapping the fried jalapeo coins for jalapeos, and asking for no cheese or dressing. Throw a fiesta in your mouth by adding house-made salsa and a side of black beans or corn.

Vegan Gourmet Burgers

Some of Red Robin's burgers can't be made vegan, but you can swap any beef or chicken patty for a Vegan Veggie Patty or an Impossible Burger. Here are our favorite ways to order a burger at Red Robin with all of the vegan toppings they offer. Make sure to order your burger Wedgie Style, on a Classic Sesame Bun, or on a Tavern Bun.

Vegan Salads

Order the Bottomless House Salad without the croutons or cheese for a great vegan salad. Then add the extras, which vary by location: arugula, green leaf lettuce, iceberg, romaine, basil, cilantro, parsley, red and green cabbage, carrots, cucumber, jalapeo, red and yellow raw onion, red pepper, pineapple slices, and tortilla strips.

Dress your salad with their only vegan dressing, Oil & Vinegar Dressing, and a pinch or two of vegan Red Robin seasoning.

Vegan Sides

You may have heard that Red Robin has steak fries that you can eat as much as you want. We're sorry to say that they are not vegan, and neither are any of Red Robin's fried sides. But don't worry, you can still get a bottomless side salad or steamed broccoli, plus these other vegan sides at Red Robin:

  • Apples
  • Black Beans
  • Carrots
  • Pickled Jalapeños
  • Corn

Vegan Sauces

Many of Red Robin's burgers stand out because of the sauces they come with. Here are some vegan choices for you:

  • Cocktail Sauce
  • Guacamole
  • House-Made Salsa
  • Island Heat Sauce
  • Scorpion Sauce

Are there any vegan desserts at Red Robin?

No, none of the desserts at Red Robin are vegan. All of them have either milk, eggs, or both.

Are Red Robin's fries vegan?

At Red Robin, there is not a single option for a fry that is suitable for vegans. Eggs and milk are found in all of the following items: steak fries, sweet potato fries, zucchini fries, and garlic fries. The identical reasoning can be applied to the onion rings and Yukon chips.
