Which is better, the Mahindra Turbo Sportz or the Hyundai Venue N-Line?

For your reference, these two vehicles are sportier iterations of their standard versions. That said, they usually boast body kits and exclusive colour options. However, they have the same engine options as their non-sport versions. The Mahindra XUV300 Turbo Sportz or the Hyundai Venue N-Line could be a good choice if you are a performance-oriented buyer. Just so you know, the Hyundai Venue N-Line has the same engine as the hatchback, the i20 N-Line. Two more engine options from the Hyundai Venue power other Hyundai cars in India.

However, choosing your dream vehicle nowadays takes time and effort. That's why this article brings you more information on these two vehicles. So, let's begin with the comparison!

The War of Power

Let's begin with the Korean sub-compact SUV. First things first, the power output of the Hyundai Venue is less than the Mahindra XUV300's. As for the Hyundai Venue N-Line's specifications, it has the same engine as the Hyundai i20 N-Line. Under the hood is a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. It sends power to the front wheels via a standard seven-speed DCT. That is a great combination, especially among petrolheads. Yes, petrolheads are hard-core fans of DCT units. Its buttery shifts and impressive ability to draw power make this gearbox the most loved.

On the contrary, it is the Mahindra XUV300 Turbo Sportz. The XUV300, in general, is among the bestselling Mahindra cars in the country. However, as for its specifications, its engine is faster than its Korean counterpart. So, the Mahindra XUV300 Turbo Sportz receives power from a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 128bhp and 230Nm of torque. It also gains 20 Nm of torque via the overboost function. This engine gets a standard six-speed manual transmission. But it misses out on an automatic transmission.

However, the Hyundai i20 will see the Mahindra XUV300 Turbo Sportz's taillights in a drag race.

As for fuel efficiency, the Hyundai Venue N-Line's mileage is 18km/l. On the other hand, the Mahindra XUV300 Turbo Sportz's mileage is 18.2km/l. All are ARAI-claimed. It is also worth noting that real-life mileage can vary with local traffic conditions and an individual's driving style. However, Mahindra cars are usually not known for their mileage, while Hyundai cars have respectable mileage. Features

These two vehicles have a long list of features. They both get a sunroof, LED lights with DRLs, a tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control, a touchscreen infotainment screen (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), etc. They both get reverse parking with guidelines and sensors. However, the Venue N-Line has only rear sensors, while the XUV300 has both front and rear. Furthermore, the XUV300 gets an auto-dimming IRVM, while the Venue doesn't. The Hyundai Venue also misses out on rain-sensing wipers.

Overall, the features in these subcompact SUVs are more or less the same. Apart from that, you can also check out the Mahindra XUV300 Turbo Sportz's price on autoX.

On the safety front, both cars have a long list of safety features. But the Mahindra XUV300 is better than the Venue N-Line. They both have the same number of airbags, but the build quality is much more rigid than the Korean carmaker's SUV. The Mahindra XUV300's safety rating is five stars, while the Hyundai Venue is four stars.

Prices and Variants

Let's start with the indigenous carmaker. The XUV300 has four trims available: W4, W6, W8, and W8 (O). Moreover, the Turbo Sportz edition begins with the W6 trim and upwards.

The Hyundai Venue N-Line, on the other hand, is exclusive to two trims: the N6 and the N8.

As for the Mahindra XUV300 price, especially that of the sports iteration, it starts at Rs 10.35 lakh for the base model, the W6 Turbo Sportz, and goes up to Rs 12.90 lakh for the top-of-the-line variant, the W8 (O) DT.

On the flip note, the Hyundai Venue price starts at Rs 10.0 lakh for the base model, the N6 iMT, and goes up to Rs 11.03 lakh for the top-range model, the N8 iMT. All are ex-showroom prices, New Delhi, as of November 2022.

Yes, the starting price of the Korean subcompact SUV is lower than that of the indigenous carmaker's vehicle. But the top model of the XUV300 Turbo Sportz is more expensive than the Hyundai Venue N-Line's top-most model.

Moreover, these two vehicles are both feature-loaded. But if you want power, then opt for the XUV300 Turbo Sportz. And if you are concerned about the looks, then the Hyundai Venue N-Line is better in that game.
