How Many Marks Do I Need to Crack SSC MTS

To fill different non-ministerial and non-gazette posts in various ministries and departments of the Indian Government, candidates in General Group C Central Services must pass a national-level which SSC MTS. Full form of SSC MTS is Staff Selection Commission Multi tasking Staff.

The Staff Selection Commission conducts it each year to fill open posts for peons, gardeners, jamadars, junior geometer operators, etc. Candidates who are interested in working for the government in these positions must first pass the SSC MTS Exam.

SSC MTS Cut Off

The Commission determines the SSC MTS examination's minimum passing mark. The age ranges of I 18 to 25 years and (ii) 18 to 27 years have been received for the Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) Examination 2019.

Therefore, cut-offs have been established for age groups, states or union territories, and categories.

Candidates will be ultimately chosen for each State or Union Territory based on their performance in the SSC MTS Paper Paper-I and the preference of the State or UT they indicated in the online application form, provided they fulfil the minimum requirements in the SSC MTS Paper-II.

The qualifying standards for Paper II have been set as follows by the commission:

1. 20 points, or 40%, go toward the unreserved category.

2. 17.5 points, or 35%, go toward the remaining reserved categories.

Vacancies and state preferences are major factors when we talk about safe scores for SSC MTS.

There have been around 9069 openings in 2019 thus far, and the final cutoff will be available on March 5, 2021.

But to be safe, you need a score of 85 or more in MTS 2020 after normalization to be eligible for at least a job in any state.

For the different posts of Peon, Gardener, Jamadar, Junior Gestetner Operator, etc., there are a total of 7301 openings for 2023. The SSC MTS 2023 Notification PDF lists 3698 Multi-Tasking Staff and 3603 Havaldar vacancies out of the total number of openings. Last year, there were 3972 non-technical job vacancies altogether, of which 3266 are for those between the ages of 18 and 15 and the remaining 706 are for individuals between the ages of 18 and 27. SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria

The basic criteria that a candidate must fulfil to be eligible for the SSC MTS are as follows:

• Candidates must have got a grade of "X" from a recognized board.
• A candidate must either be an Indian citizen, a Nepalese subject, a Tibetan refugee, or an Indian refugee.
• PG (GEN) and residing in the J & K state
• Up to five years of reprieve.
• Up to 8 years for PG(OBC)
• Up to 10 years for PG(SC/ST)
• Veteran (OBC) - up to three years
• Ex-servicemen who reside in Jammu and Kashmir (OBC) for up to 8 years
• Important Information: The date of birth that was provided in senior secondary school will be considered.

Nationality

A candidate must be an Indian citizen or a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan.

Age Limit (as of 01st January 2022)

For MTS and Havaldar posts in CBN, the age range for applicants is 18 to 25.

For Havaldar in CBIC and a few MTS positions, a candidate's age as of the application deadline must fall between 18 and 27.

Candidates from restricted groups also receive an age relaxation in line with government laws in addition to the age limit.

Educational Qualifications for SSC MTS Exam

• The matriculation (10th Pass) exam or an exam from a recognized board's equivalent level must have been passed by the candidates.
• If a candidate fails the qualifying exam before the deadline for receiving application forms, they are ineligible to apply.

Selection Process

The qualifying candidates for SSC Multi-Tasking Staff will be selected in three phases. For each step, a candidate must receive scores more than the declared cut-off to qualify. The three actions that need to be taken are as follows:

Stage 1: Paper 1 (Objective)

Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST) and SSC MTS Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (only for the post of Havaldar)

Stage 3: Paper 2 (Descriptive)

There are a few procedures that come after the SSC MTS exam selection process. A candidate must be familiar with the following SSC MTS exam selection procedures in detail:

Complete the SSC MTS 2023 exam application.

• For your name to appear on the SSC MTS 2023 merit list, you must pass Papers I and II.
• Candidates who want to be Havildars must also pass the Physical Standard Test (PST).

At the time of document verification for the SSC MTS 2023, a candidate should have these papers with them.

• Certificates of Completion: Class 10 Certificate and Class 12 Certificate (If available)
• Proof of Identity (PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Voter ID, and so on)

• Passport size photo
• Serving Defense Personnel Certificate for Ex-Servicemen Proof of Residency Caste/Category Certificate

• A relevant Certificate is required if you want an age reduction.

The SSC MTS exam (nontechnical) is now conducted online, as opposed to how it was in years past. The SSC MTS 2022 exam now features 100 questions instead of the previous 70. These were done in years past to answer 150 questions. Additionally, the time frame has been shortened to 90 minutes.

Three levels will make up the SSC MTS 2023 exam: Paper 1, PET/PST (only for havildar), and Paper 2. (Descriptive Test). Exam Pattern for Paper 1

• In the first paper, there are four parts with problems of objective in nature.
• It takes place online. Computer-based Exam
• For general candidates, the first paper will take 90 minutes, while for candidates with impairments will have 120 minutes.
• A 0.25-point deduction will be given for each wrong answer.
• Unanswered questions will not have their marks deducted.
• There will be a separate category- and state/UT-based cutoffs for Paper-I. The Commission may set different cutoffs for each age group, category, and State/UT for Paper-I.

Exam Pattern for Paper 2

• The second paper is descriptive. It evaluates the candidates' basic linguistic abilities.
• It takes place offline. (Written test or pen-and-paper)
• The test consists of one short essay or letter-writing question in English or any other language mentioned in the eighth schedule of the Constitution.
• Paper 2 will be worth 50 points.
• Applicants in the General Category have 45 minutes to complete the SSC MTS Paper II; candidates in the PwD Category have 60 minutes.

The only nonverbal questions in the "General Intelligence and Reasoning" part of the test will be related to the duties of the role. Due to the simplicity and degree of difficulty of the questions, a normal matriculate will be able to respond to questions on numerical aptitude and general English with ease. Similar-level questions will also be included in the general knowledge test.

General Intelligence and Reasoning: This section will cover nonverbal questions. Examining a candidate's ability to work with abstract ideas and symbols, as well as how they relate to one another, perform mathematical calculations, and perform other analytical activities, will be done through a variety of test questions.

Numerical Aptitude: It covers topics including number systems, computing whole numbers, decimals, and fractions, as well as how numbers relate to one another. Along with other subjects, they will go through fundamental mathematical operations, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

English Language: The English language's essentials, including vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, and correct usage, will be examined, as well as the candidates' writing abilities.

General Awareness: A series of questions will assess the candidate's broad knowledge of his surroundings and how it pertains to society. Candidates' knowledge of current events, as well as themes related to routine observation and experience in the framework of science, will be tested via questions.
