Minivan Vs SUV Comparison: What Are The Differences

We went on vacation last month on the Road to Hana with my family. We are a family of 5 members and had luggage along with us. We booked a minivan for the route. However, we booked an SUV while returning, and both were different experience-wise. Read the blog post to know about SUV comparison with the minivan.

 Let’s get started!

Minivan Vs SUV Difference

Minivans and SUVs are the two popular vehicles designed for different purposes. We covered the same path, but the two vehicles made the difference. To give you a clear picture, here is the difference between the two:

  • Size: We had 4 backpacks and 2 trolleys, plus we were 5 members, easily fitted in the minivan as it was larger and offered more interior space than SUVs. On the other hand, when returning to the SUV, it was not spacious and was compact. But, it was giving an athletic kind of look. So, minivans are definitely bigger if you make a car size comparison.

  • Passenger Capacity: We figured out that if somebody wants to embark on any journey with family and friends, they should go with a Minivan. It is designed to carry more passengers and luggage, but in an SUV, only a limited number of people can sit. One can also compare vehicle dimensions to ensure that the luggage is fitted inside the car.

  • Handling: One drawback of traveling in a minivan is that it is designed with a smooth and comfortable ride in mind, suitable for long drives. But, if you are considering continuing your journey on a tough road like Hana, you should go with an SUV, as it offers a more sporty driving experience.

  • Fuel-efficiency: Minivans are designed for long drives and are designed to be more fuel efficient than SUVs. So, if fuel efficiency is your concern, go with a minivan.

  • Off-road capabilities: If you are going to make a long journey on a tough road, then SUVs are well suited for it. These are equipped with features like higher ground clearance and skid plates to help navigate rough terrain.

Summing Up

Conclusively, minivans are designed for families and friends who prioritize interior space and comfort. At the same time, SUVs are best for those who prioritize style, off-road capabilities, and a sporty driving experience.
