Following is a tutorial on how to install the Sage 50 Rebuild Server.

1. Log into your Sage 50 account via the web-based user interface.

2. Under System Administration, click on Software Maintenance.

3. Click on the Deployment tab and select Sage 50 Rebuild Server from the Deployment Type dropdown menu.

4. On the Installation Details page, specify the following information:

a) Name of the server: sage-rebuild-server

b) Location of the server: (for example, /opt/sage )

5. Click on Next to continue with the installation process.

6. On the Confirmation page, review your settings and click on Finish to start the installation process.

1. First, make sure that your computer has the required prerequisites by installing the following packages:

·        Oracle Solaris 11 Update 4 or later

·        Java Development Kit 8u60 (or newer)

2. Next, create a directory in which to store your Sage50 installation files:

cd /usr/local/sage-50/srv_rebuild mkdir build

3. Download and install the Red Hat Deployment Toolkit from the following URL: https://access.redhat.com/site/en-US/products/deployment-tools

4. Extract the contents of the Deployment Toolkit into a new directory:

cd deploy_tools mkdir sage50_deployments cd sage50_deploy

Updating the software on the Sage 50 Rebuild Server


In this blog post we will be discussing how to update the software on the Sage 50 rebuild server. To begin, take a look at the following image. This is a snapshot of the Software Updates page within Server Manager on our rebuild server.

The first thing that we need to do is identify which updates are required for our build environment. For this particular server, we can see that there are three updates that are required:

1) Windows Update Agent (WUA) – This update will help to keep our build environment up-to-date with the latest security patches and bug fixes.

2) Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7 – This update is necessary in order to run some of the newer features available in Sage 50 such as Publish Workbooks and Reports.

3) Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable - This update will provide the required tools so that Sage 50 can run more efficiently.

Once we have identified which updates are needed, we can start to download and install them onto our rebuild server. To begin, open Server Manager and click on the Updates tab. Within this tab, you will see a list of all of the updates that are currently available for your machine. Next, you will need to select each of the updates that you require and click on the Download button next to it.
