How to leave your magazine bed

When we look through decoration and interior design magazines, we envy many things, one of which is the bedroom bed. We see a pristine aesthetic, and when comparing the photograph with our bed, we think it impossible to achieve that result. However, this post will show you how to leave your magazine bed without going through Photoshop. Do not give up!

Tips for dressing your bed and leaving it as a magazine

• Put many cushions: One of the decorative keys of a magazine bed lies in the cushions. Do not worry if you put many, you can arrange them in several rows on the headboard and create different combinations. We recommend that the bed cushions are of different shapes (for example: rectangular and circular) and sizes, as well as different colors

How should the bed cushions be? We recommend this decorating trick:

• The first two cushions are paired in a solid color to match all the bedding.
• The next pair of cushions with a cover equal to the bottom sheet of the bed. That is why a trick is to have several sets of the same sheets.
• A last pair with a cover that is the same as the duvet or comforter.

• White sheets: If you do not want the only days your bed is perfect to be when you have the sheets to match the cushion cover, opt for white sheets. With white, you will not fail and create an immaculate appearance. This way, you can give more prominence to the quilt's color or plaid.

• The pillow: If you place many cushions, it is preferable not to put a pillow, that is, that it is divided. But if you want to put it, you can put a white cover to match the bottom sheets or put it in the same color as the duvet cover. In this way, the pillow will contrast with the bed's headboard.

• A good cover. We can achieve a more enveloping finish and achieve in the bed in the bedroom through the cover. This technique consists of folding the top sheet of the bedding over the duvet at the top. Said fold should have about 50 cm or so, to be halfway between the open or semi-closed bed, approximately at the height of the cushions. This way, you will invite to rest more attractively.

• The bedspread, comforter, or duvet cover. In a magazine bed, it is common to see how they let the bedspread fall to the floor, and the sofa or the legs of the bed cannot be seen. Even if we have the quilt or duvet cover that hang, it is advisable to have a mattress cover or canapé cover so that when we uncover the bed, we continue to take care of the aesthetics.

Dressing the bed well means having good decoration for the bed. Take note:

• A plaid at the foot of the bed: The already mythical unfolded blanket of magazine beds is essential to complete the room's decoration. In this case, it is convenient that this blanket is a color that allows contrast. If, for example, we already tried to introduce a contrast in the first pair of solid color cushions, the plaid should go with these.

• The carpet is the main element to decorate the bed and give it a presidential look. We recommend placing it at the foot of the bed and making it soft. With it, we can comfortably take off our shoes without getting cold feet.

• Different textures. To provide even more glamor to your magazine bed, using more than one type of texture in the fabrics is preferable. Especially in winter, if you have used a long-haired plush or faux fur plaid, play with a cotton duvet cover and, for example, some fringed cushions. It will give you more depth. Keep in mind that the quality of the fabrics will not only be noticeable by touch. If they are good, they will be heavier and wrinkle less. So, you won't have to be retouched so much.

Tips for arranging the bed like in a hotel

Beyond the decorative recommendations to dress the bed as they do in magazines, hotels know how to arrange the bed to create a more pleasant experience. That feeling of getting into bed and knowing immediately that you are going to rest well can be tricky.

• Iron the sheets: If going to bed with freshly washed sheets is one of life's pleasures, imagine what it would be like if you also ironed them. For this, we recommend doing it when they are still wet; iron from the center to the ends and place it directly on the bed if you consider that with the board, it is an excessively cumbersome task.

• The bottom sheet: Hotels attach great importance to the fact that the sheets on the bed do not come off the mattress or move easily. For this reason, a trick is to use normal sheets for the lower part. That is, put some fitted sheets without the typical elastic and leave a lot of excess fabric to tuck under the mattress.

• Air the mattress well. Every so often, turn the mattress over, shake it, and remember the importance of letting it breathe.

• Ventilate the bed: One of the morning obligations that we must impose on ourselves is to ventilate the room. Ten minutes of pure freshness will be more than enough. To do this, spread the duvet down well and separate the top furniture manufacturers.

• The smell. There are many tricks to perfume your bed and make it always smell good. The sense of smell can change your mood a lot, so keep this in mind so that when you go to bed and when you get out of bed, you achieve maximum comfort.
