How to find out if you're transgender, or just want to crossdress?

Crossdressing can be a broad term that encompasses many things. It might even be a hobby. Crossdressing can be seen as an art form, a way of expressing yourself better, or a way to manage gender dysphoria. Each crossdresser is unique and some may wonder if they are transgender or straight. This article will help you understand your feelings and to identify whether you are a person.

1 Recalling old memories

Transgender people often have painful memories of feeling uncomfortable when they were forced to wear clothes or adopt behaviors that were typical of their gender at birth. This feeling is common in childhood but can become more severe during puberty. It's called gender dysphoria. People who are trans might feel this way in different situations. Being unable to express or understand their feelings can cause repressed memories. Crossdressing, however, is an "escape valve" that allows them to be themselves for a while and feels less dysphoric. If adult crossdressers are able to recall strong feelings, this could indicate that they may be transgender.

2 Search for your emotions

Although crossdressing from crossdresser shop can bring about different feelings for different people, it is more common to experience occasional euphoria. This is a type of happiness that you feel for a short time, much like any other hobby. Crossdressing can feel like an addiction if it causes you to feel happier when you're dressed up than when you don't. It is possible to decide your gender by simply thinking about who you are comfortable being.

Consider how you would like to be treated as an individual. If you're biologically male and you want to be treated as such, or you don't mind society calling you a woman, but you love to dress up in womens clothes, you might just be a crossdresser. If you prefer to be treated as a woman, you will most likely be transgender.

Although there are some differences in the behaviour of transgender people and crossdressers, it is possible for each individual to have a different approach. Crossdressers will not necessarily have a different body, so dressing in someone else's clothes may be enough for some crossdressers. Trans people are more likely than others to alter their appearances by permanently shaving, styling their eyebrows and using hormones to enhance their appearance. Keep in mind, however, that neither group might be able to pass and you shouldn't treat it as a limit.

You might also want to think about your future and imagine how you would like to live it. Are you imagining yourself as a woman? Or as a man. Do you want to change your body permanently and take on a new gender identity? Do you prefer to keep your current gender identity but dress up a bit (in public or private) while making it clear that your gender identity is unchanged?

To clarify, you alone can determine your identity. This is a personal matter, so what I have written has no purpose other than to help you identify yourself. Don't let others define you. Be yourself. You can dress up however you like and present yourself in whatever way suits you best. You are unique as your gender identity and perceptions, so don’t be afraid to express yourself.
