How Do I Get a Business Visa for Vietnam from the United States?

If you wish to visit a country for business activities, you will need a business visa for that. Firstly, let us explore –

What is a business visa?

An essential type of travel authorization from the government is a business visa. A business visa allows an entrepreneur or a corporate representative to visit another country.

If an American citizen is going to visit Vietnam for official activities, he also requires a business visa for Vietnam.

For persons who come and stay in Vietnam for a maximum of 12 months to work with Vietnamese businesses or engage in business-related activities like meetings, signing contracts, or more, a business visa, also known as a DN visa, is provided.

Requirements of a Vietnam Business Visa for Americans

You need to prepare the following documents to get a business visa:

  • Your passport, valid for at least six months, along with two blank bank pages for immigration and visa stamps for Vietnam.
  • Two passport-size photographs.
  • Letter of sponsorship from a Vietnam-based business with a permit.
  • Online visa application to apply for a Vietnam visa online

In how many ways can you apply for a Vietnam business visa?

You can get a Vietnam business in the following ways:

  • At an embassy or consulate of Vietnam in your nation.
  • Online via the Vietnam e-visa service.
  • Get a visa on arrival at one of Vietnam’s eight international airports.

Now, let us understand each procedure in detail.

To apply for a Vietnam business visa at the Vietnam embassy or Consulate

You must go to the nearest embassy or consulate of Vietnam if you wish to obtain a business visa for Vietnam in this manner.

The application for requesting a Vietnam business visa at the embassy is as follows:

Step 1: Receive the sponsorship letter for the Vietnam business visa

Your sponsor organization in Vietnam will submit an application to the Vietnam Immigration Department for your Vietnam business visa sponsorship letter. The documents you require are:

  • A copy of your passport.
  • A certified copy of the registration certificate of the sponsor company.
  • Form NA2 (must be filled out online).
  • Form NA16.
  • Other documents are required.

After Vietnam Immigration has received all of your documents, it will take 5-7 working days to approve your application.

If the department approves your visa application, then it will

  • Send the sponsorship letter to your sponsor
  • Send a fax to the Vietnam embassy or consulate’s registered office seeking the stamping of your business visa.

Step 2: Gather the Vietnam business visa stamping documents

You will receive the invitation letter you received in step 1 from your sponsor. Print it off, and include it with additional necessary documents, such as but not limited to:

  • A visa application form, completely filled
  • Your actual passport
  • Your pictures
  • The embassy/consulate-specific visa cost.

Step 3: Receive the business visa stamp

Depending on the requirements, you can either mail or personally deliver your prepared paperwork to the registered Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate.

You can use your business visa for Vietnam to enter the country once it has been approved and stamped on your passport.

To obtain a Vietnam visa on arrival

You can obtain a business visa on arrival in the same manner as an embassy business visa. But, following your arrival in Vietnam, you will receive a visa stamp at the airport rather than from the embassy or consulate of Vietnam.

You must present all the essential documentation to the Vietnam immigration officer at the airport upon arrival to have your visa stamped onto your passport and to complete the entry process necessary to enter Vietnam and begin working there.

To apply for a Vietnam business visa

Citizens of 80 countries are eligible to get a Vietnam business visa. And the USA is also among them. So, Americans can apply for a Vietnam business eVisa.

You can apply it in two ways:

  • Apply for a Vietnam eVisa personally
  • The inviting company/organization can apply your eVisa

Personal application for a eVisa for business in Vietnam

Simply choose “Business Activities” as the reason for your trip from the dropdown menu while filling out the online application form at the Vietnam Immigration Portal to apply for a business eVisa.

After that, upload a photo of yourself and a scanned copy of your passport, submit the visa fee and then wait while the visa is processed.

You can download the visa and submit it at the entry checkpoint of Vietnam if your application for a eVisa for business travel to Vietnam is accepted.

The inviting company/organization requests your Vietnam business eVisa

Your new employer must register on the Vietnam Immigration Portal to receive an account and an electronic signature when they apply for your business visa.

They are required to pay the visa money, upload their photographs, and scan their passport.

For you to print off your eVisa and enter Vietnam, they must email you the registration code if their application is approved.

It usually takes 3 working days or longer to finish this eVisa process, depending on how many visa applications are still pending.
