The KT Wiz swept the NC Dinos with 'ace' Eric Peddie on a five-game exclusionary card.

The 'second half number one' KT swept NC 4-0 in a home game of the KBO 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL Baseball League at Katie Weeds Park in Suwon on the 13th.

Third-place KT, which went 4-1 this week, including 2-1 against NC, extended its lead over fourth-place NC to two games.

KT has a winning percentage of .800 (16-4) in its last 20 games.

NC was unable to stop KT's momentum, even with Pedi, who is considered the best pitcher in the 2023 season.

The KT fifth starter gave up just one hit in six innings, but he got himself into trouble by walking seven batters. However, he managed to keep the runs in check and earned his sixth win of the season.

KT's bats were not intimidated by Pedi, and they batted confidently to score the winning runs.

In the second inning, Anthony Alford led off with a single to right field, stole second on an error, and came home on Oh Yoon-seok's double to center field.

In the fourth, leadoff hitter Alford hit his 10th home run of the season off Peddie, and in the fifth, with runners on first and third, Jang Jang-woo drove in another run with a sacrifice fly.

KT added a run in the seventh on a bases-loaded single by Hwang Jae-gyun to make it 4-0.

Pedi gave up three runs (one earned) on six hits in five innings to take his fourth loss of the season.

The only team that doesn't have to worry about KT's surge is the 'leading' LG Twins.

LG, which reached the 60-win plateau the day before, pounded out 18 hits, including three home runs, to beat the Kiwoom Heroes 17-8 at home in Jamsil to extend its winning streak to five games (61 wins, 35 losses and two ties).

On the day, Kiwoom started "high school rookie pitcher" Kim Dong-kyu, who was acquired from LG on March 29. Veteran catcher Lee Ji-young was also out of the first team roster due to a sore throat, so high school rookie Kim Dong-heon was paired with Kim Dong-gyu.

LG constantly shook Kiwoom's high school rookie battery, including a "double steal" in the bottom of the second inning with runners on first and third, with first baseman Hong Chang-ki running to second and third baseman Lee Jae-won crossing the plate as Kim Dong-heon's song ball went to second.

Kim Dong-kyu took the loss in his first career first-team start, allowing five runs on four hits and three walks in two innings.

LG managed to steal five bases in Kim's two innings on the mound.

With home runs by Park Dong-won in the second inning, Austin Dean in the third and Hong Chang-ki in the eighth, LG showed off both its "power" and "century" to knock off last-place Kiwoom. Kiwoom fell into a four-game losing streak.

Second-place SSG Landers also defeated the Samsung Lions 4-0 at home in Incheon.

SSG starter Kim Kwang-hyun pitched seven innings of three-hit shutout baseball to improve to 7-4 for his first win in four games since July 21 against the LG Twins.

After striking out the side in the first inning, Kim Kwang-hyun gave up a single to Oh Jae-il with two outs in the second inning, but right fielder Choi Ji-hoon made an accurate throw to catch Kang Min-ho at home plate to end the threat.

After that, he pitched seven innings without any threats.

Taylor Widener, who joined Samsung after being released by the NC Dinos, had a bittersweet "Samsung debut," giving up four runs on 10 hits in 6⅔ innings in his first start since the move. It was his third loss of the season (four wins) if you include his performance in NC.

The Lotte Giants swept the KIA Tigers 6-1 at Sajik Stadium in Busan.

After going 2-1 in a three-game series against Kiwoom during the week and a three-game series against KIA over the weekend, seventh-place Lotte closed the gap on sixth-place KIA to 1.5 games.

In the final game of the week, Lotte capitalized on Kia's weaknesses.

Tied 0-0 in the bottom of the third inning, Lotte put runners on first and second with no outs after Ahn Kwon-soo singled up the middle and Ahn Chi-hong walked.

The next batter, Lee Jung-hoon, hit a grounder that Kia second baseman Kim Kyu-sung threw behind him, allowing Ahn Kwon-soo to round third and score.

After Jeon Jun-woo singled up the middle to load the bases, LOTTE got Niko Gudrum to ground out, but Park Seung-wook singled up the middle to score a run.

With two outs, Noh Jin-hyuk hit a three-run double down the left field line off Mario Sanchez to make it 5-0.

LOTTE starter Charlie Barnes pitched a no-hitter, not allowing a hit until the fifth inning, and picked up his ninth win of the season with seven innings of three-hit, one-run (unearned) ball.

In Daejeon, the home team Hanwha Eagles defeated the Doosan Bears 8-3.

Hanwha scored three runs in the top of the first inning with runners on first and second as Chae Eun-sung doubled to left field, Kim Tae-yeon singled to left-center, and Lee Jin-young singled to left.

After Doosan cut the deficit to 4-2 on a solo shot by Yang Seok-hwan, Hanwha answered back with three runs in the fourth inning with runners on first and second on an RBI double by Kim In-hwan and an RBI single to left by Noh Si-hwan.

Hanwha's young slugger, Noh Si-hwan, didn't add a home run, but he did get one RBI to extend his lead in the category to 75 RBI. He also leads the league in home runs (27). 파워볼
