solar panels prcess of installation

Solar panels and their process of installation

It consists of the following steps below

·        1. Preparing your roof

·        2. Fixing the rails

·        3. Installation of solar panels and equipment

·        4. Electrical wiring and connection

·        5. Connection to the public network

·        Special case: installing solar panels yourself

1. Preparing your roof

Solar panels can be installed on all types of sloping roofs (tiles, slates or flat tiles). If the roof is under construction, it is possible to opt for integrating the solar panels directly into the building. Most owners, however, opt for superimposed installation, with the fixing of the photovoltaic modules to the roof using a system of rails.

This solution is less expensive and less restrictive, because it does not require undertaking special work to modify the roof. It is also quicker to set up: on average, the installation takes place over one day, sometimes two or three depending on weather conditions and the size of the installation. There is only one constraint: the installation of solar panels cannot be carried out if it is raining or windy.

To facilitate and secure access to the roof, the installer places scaffolding and a freight elevator. He then inspects your roof, ensures that your tiles are securely fixed and marks out a location for your solar panels.

2. Fixing the rails

For this precision work, the installer partially removes a few tiles. The goal: to free up space to bolt mounting brackets and attach a supporting structure. It accommodates the solar panels and guarantees their stability.

During installation, the rails are oriented and tilted so that the solar panels can capture sunlight in optimal conditions and obtain good performance. They generally face due south (or southeast or southwest) and tilted between 30 and 35 degrees. Depending on the characteristics of your home, other inclinations and orientations are possible.

4. Electrical wiring and connection

To connect your solar panels to each other, the technician carries out the electrical wiring before connecting them to the regulator, which will itself be connected to the photovoltaic inverter. To be able to route the current to your sockets, the inverter is then connected to the electricity network and the solar panels connected to the meter.

Once the wiring and electrical connections have been made, the professional carries out a final test to ensure the proper functioning of your solar installation

5. Connection to the public network

Whether you choose to resell part of your production (self-consumption with surplus sale) or all of it, your solar panels must be connected to the public network. For this last step, you – or the company responsible for the installation – must send a connection request to ENEDIS. Once agreement has been reached, a technician will come to your home to carry out the work and give you a certificate of conformity.

Is the solar installation commissioned? If so, you can now enjoy your solar panels with complete peace of mind and produce your own electricity.

Special case: installing solar panels yourself

Have you opted for a  solar kit  ? This solution is dedicated to DIY enthusiasts and allows you to install your solar panels yourself. It comes with photovoltaic modules, inverters, cables, rails and all the necessary hardware.

The assembly of the structure is carried out using instructions with detailed instructions. An installation guide indicates the steps to follow to install  the solar panels . As the connection in the electrical panel requires advanced knowledge
