Indian Dahi or yogurt is loved by many, and can be enjoyed in a myriad of ways. For instance, instead of using fattening mayonnaise and calorie laden cream, it would be a good idea to use a thick yogurt while making a dip. You can hang Indian yoghurt overnight in a muslin cloth to get rid of excess water and make it thicker. To make a dip, you simply have to beat this yogurt till it gets a really smooth texture, and add seasonings like crushed garlic, chills flakes, or mustard sauce. This dahi dip can be served with finger foods, crackers, and even fresh veggie sticks. The creamy dip can be also used as a spread on breads. You may even substitute it with regular mayonnaise in sandwiches and burgers.

You can even buy Curd in Australia, and have it with your salads. Firstly, you should cut, chop and shred various salad ingredients as per your liking. These ingredients can include boiled corn, cucumber, tomatoes, sprouts, par boiled carrots and peas, lettuce, roasted peanuts and more. After doing so, you just have to mix half a cup of thick, beaten dahi to the veggies, and add a dash of lime, pinch of sugar, a spoonful of olive oil, and salt to taste. This salad would be very healthy and tasty.

In the summers, you can also opt to use dahi instead of milk when making shake or smoothies with milk and fruit. You can take fruits like bananas, strawberries and mangoes, put them in a blender, add a cupful of thick curd, along with sugar and ice. Churn for a minute and there to get a nice, creamy and healthy smoothie! Such smoothies are a great source of energy post workout and an excellent breakfast option.
