You Need to Take Care of Your Sublimation Printer

Over the years, there have been a few problems with sublimation printers. There are, however, some general maintenance tasks that you can do to cut down on the number of times this happens. The following tips for printer care will work for any brand. Before you do any repair on your printer, make sure you read the instructions that came with it.

1. Everyday For a sublimation printer, clean the spray heads:

For people who have never done sublimation printing before, a printer nozzle check is a test print that you use to see if all of your printer's heads are working. Print heads getting clogged up is a regular problem with all sublimation printers. Keeping the print heads clean is therefore the most important thing. If one of the heads is clogged, the picture you get might not be perfect.

If you print a lot, letting the ink run through the nozzle heads is an easy way to clean the print heads. The sublimation ink dries out in the valve heads, though, after a few days of not printing. This makes the head choke. Most of the time, when heads get clogged, the printed picture has streaks. You may also have the same problem if the cartridges don't have enough ink. So, do regular checks to keep heads from getting clogged.

Also, it's important to clean the print head, the top of the head cap, and the wipers.

Clean up the place where caps go.

This pad is square and not very big. Clean the outside of the plastic lip with the Q-tip. This will get rid of any ink that has built up. Make sure a strong seal is made so that the most pressure can be applied. We will need this for cleaning and other similar tasks. A cleaning solution should be poured on the pad often to keep it clean.

The wiper blade should be clean.

This blade is an important part of how the machine works. It gets rid of extra ink as the head moves across it. The ink drains to a repair tank that is set up under the setup. If the wiper blade gets dirty or full of ink, it won't be able to do its job properly.

2. Don't waste ink in the sublimation printer. When the sublimation printer is serviced, too much ink is wasted. The machine needs a certain amount of ink every day when you clean it. As we already talked about, the ink flow can be used to clean the valve heads.

So, whether you keep a different storage container or one that is built-in, you need to take the right steps to keep track of the ink that you waste.

3. Make sure your workshop is clean:

A big part of keeping your sublimation printer in good shape is making sure it stays in the right place. The way you take care of your sublimation printer is pretty much the same way you take care of any other piece of equipment. Setting up the printer so it can work well is something you need to do. For good prints, you also need to use the right sublimation inks and paper, and for the best-finished result, you need to use good sublimation blanks. Remember that your sublimation printer needs to be kept away from other machines that might make dust or lint that could get stuck in the printer. It would help if you also had a lot of room to get your substrates ready and let them cool down after pressing.

After you've done all of that, keeping up with regular repairs will help your printer keep printing and your business keep selling for a long time.

4. Be careful! With refillable ink tubes for sublimation printers:

If you have an ink cylinder that can be refilled, be very careful when you do it.

Dust: Everything goes bad when dust gets into the ink cylinder. It may not only make the prints look bad, but it could also damage the ink supply system in your sublimation printers.

Bubbles of air: You can keep dust out of the ink cartridge, but bubbles of air can be a big problem when you fill them by hand.

5. Temperature and sublimation ink for a sublimation printer:

The color loss rate is more important for dye sublimation ink because it mostly uses dye sublimation to transfer the picture to the product. Most of the time, foreign ink can lose up to 90% of its color, and the picture on the heat transfer paper after transfer is pretty much white. There is a lot of color in the picture, and it looks better too. Second, the large-particle sublimation ink is likely to cause printer plugging, and the picture that is made is not fine enough. If you look at it with a magnifying glass, you can see the granular shape.

For good storage that doesn't dry out, sublimation inks need to be kept at a certain temperature and humidity level. To keep sublimation ink safe, the temperature should be between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius, and the humidity should be more than 35%. But when there is too much humidity, moisture builds up on transfer paper and media. When the transfer paper or substrate touches the heat press, the water turns into steam, which changes the quality of the picture that was sublimated. Because of this, you need to use an air exhaust machine or any other indoor moisture monitor to keep the workshop at the right temperature and humidity. Also, if you just bought a new dye-sublimation printer, it will be easier to keep up if it has an automatic cleaning option.

Finally, you should keep your digital sublimation printer in good shape by using the usual problems, do-it-yourself tips, and solutions we talked about above. If you don't print often, you need to deal with the usual problem of print heads getting clogged. Your sublimation printer will work well and print reasonably well as long as you take care of it regularly.
