Introducing the New Honda Stylo 160cc Scooter – 45 Kilometers per Liter Mileage

Honda has unveiled the new Honda Stylo 160cc Scooter, boasting a single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power of 16 bhp and a peak torque of 15 Nm.

India stands as one of the world's largest 2W markets. In this vast market, commuter scooters and motorcycles predominantly rule the roost. There's ample room for premium and sporty offerings, and almost every manufacturer tries their hand in this direction. Enter the Honda Stylo 160 scooter. Does it hold any significance for India? Let's take a peek.

When we talk about Honda's premium 160cc scooters, we think of the Honda ADV 160, Click 160, and now the Stylo 160. The latest Stylo 160 offers a neo-retro proposition, reminiscent of scooters from yesteryears. It's stylish and appeals to modern, youthful consumers seeking a touch of nostalgia.

The retro appeal is perfectly complemented by modern amenities. We're talking LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED tail lights, keyless start feature, combined braking system (CBS), anti-lock braking system (ABS), alloy wheels, color-matched ORVMs, color-coded floorboard, and an option between matte and glossy sea covers, all adding to the drama.

Honda Stylo 160 Speaking of colors

the Honda Stylo 160 comes in Glam Beige, Royal Matte Black, Glam Red, and Royal Green. The Royal variants might fetch a premium since they offer ABS options and come with blue floorboards and seat covers, adding theatrical flair.

Now, onto the powertrain. The Honda Stylo 160 is powered by a single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, generating around 16 bhp of maximum power and 15 Nm of peak torque. It's in the league of Hero Zoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155. Given Honda's pedigree, we can expect a refined package.

When it comes to components, we can expect alloy wheels, wide tires, front disc brakes, telescopic front forks, and ample under-seat storage. Only the Royal variant gets silver grab rails and silver front forks painted, adding to the visual drama.

Does it matter for India?

In the Indian scooter market, Honda reigns supreme with almost no direct competitors. Most of Honda's scooter might comes from the Activa lineup, catering primarily to commuters. However, HMSI has never stepped into offering premium high-capacity scooters for the Indian market, and travelers have been stuck.

But why not? Yamaha is currently selling the Aerox 155 sporty scooter in India. Hero MotoCorp is eager to launch its newly developed Zoom 160 ADV-style maxi scooter. Hence, it seems there's a place for premium scooters, and being India's largest scooter manufacturer, Honda might consider this in the future.

So, gear up for a potential shake-up in the premium scooter segment as Honda, with its Stylo 160, might just bring the heat to the competition.
