Billets
Nakoda Group - Billets- Steel Billets are the second stage product produced during the time process of making steel bars. The raw steel can't be utilized in its pure form; it needs to be cast into shape before it is employed. The newly created steel, which is still as a metal bar or square shape, is called steel billet.
- Billets are also known as the second-stage product of steel production. They can be produced in two ways namely continuous casting or rolled directly from the casting process by billet mills. Steel Billets are very ductile and are produced in square cross-sections.
- A Billet is classified as a semi-finished casting product and can be processed into final products such as TMT bars, rods, & wires.
Rolling Mill
In metalworking, rolling is a metal forming process in which metal stock is passed through one or more pairs of rolls to reduce the thickness and to make the thickness uniform. Rolling is classified according to the temperature of the metal rolled. If the temperature of the metal is above its recrystallization temperature, then the process is known as hot rolling.
Furnace
A metallurgical furnace, more commonly referred to as a furnace, is a device used to heat and melt metal ore to remove gangue, primarily in iron and steel production. The heat energy to fuel a furnace may be supplied directly by fuel combustion, by electricity such as the electric arc furnac, or through induction heating in induction furnaces.
SMS Division
Steel Melting Shop (SMS) receives Hot Metal (HM) from Iron-making units and converts it into various grades of Steel and casts them into Slabs, Blooms, Billets, Beam blanks, Rounds and thin slab- HR coils. Those are delivered as products to down-stream units (Long, Section & Flat Products). SMS is the first stage in the Steel manufacturing value chain where product differentiation and customization starts.
Power plant
A power plant or powerhouse, is an industrial facility for the generation of electric power. Power plants contain one or more generators, a rotating machine that converts mechanical power into electrical power. The relative motion between a magnetic field and a conductor creates an electrical current. The energy source harnessed to turn the generator varies widely.
